Default Ascender K10

So been reworking my K10 since installing most of the GCMRacing goodies.

I noticed alot of angle on the steering link pivot ball (on the servo horn) thats binding when the axle reaches a certain point how can i fix this so its not binding? Im not running a droop setup. Without lowering the the servo? Itself to take off the binding on the pivot ball.
I can not afford new shocks that are shorter.

Just need to solder a few things and the K10 will be back on the trails shortly.

And pictures to be uploaded shortly.

Pictures. So GCMRacing setup. Reworking the wiring. Switch to a 45T 550 i had kicking around. Will be installing a smaller pinion its currently a 18T going down to a 16T running 2s on Trails not just rocks. New 20kg/277oz powerhd servo will be picked up. The old blue hitec has been with me since i started rcing and can no longer turn the 1.9s. Proline KO2’s OD of 4.35” on Gmade SR03 beadlocks.

New servo PowerHD LW-20MG. Had a TRX4 servo horn kicking around and the spline count matched up so that will be the servo horn used. Out with the old Hitec HS5646WP it had a good rub but can no longer keep up with moving tires. Motor being regeared from a 18T pinion to a 16T pinion.

Also changing out the pivot ball and rod end for a more traditional steering rod end which should allow for a few spacers to lower the ball. Not really needed to be done but opens up some adjustability

So the steering link was lowered a total of 2.75mm not enough to make it parallel but its closer. Need a longer screw to lower the steering link to parallel with the Panhard.

Have you thought of mounting the servo from the bottom instead of from the top to get the arms parallel?

Pretty sure that's what I did with mine...

Yeah - it's not pretty - I need a different length steering link - mine is jury-rigged but it works just fine, as the links are almost perfectly parallel:

So you rig is set up with the servo to on side of the frame. Mine is going across the frame. I will see if i have those parts to make it change the servos position Also im curios as to where you got that bumper?

Realized that the 1.9 beadlocks I have did not have enough offset to keep the K02 from rubbing the rod end so I am using it my old 2.2 that clear. Would of been easy enough to buy a wider hex hub but that's not in the current budget. And size wise these 2.2s aren't that much bigger than the 1.9s.

Here's a pic of that bumper before installation - it is a WertyMade Ascender Flat-top stinger model - but WertyMade seems to have gone out of business -you MIGHT find one at an LHS or somewhere, if you're lucky:

Found a mistake younger me made. A longer upper link. To smooth out a drive shaft angle from the pumpkin by switching to a 66mm upper link. Over keeping it stock link 61mm. There is a "i told you so" coming my way.
Which created a few problems to do with the steering.

After laughing at my own mistakes for some time.

Got 110mm shocks installed.

Alright almost everything done now time to charge a 2s lipo up. And go test it out on the melting slushy snow windrows.
4600mAh pack. And I might try 3s as well.

Also ordered a new K10 cab while I was at the local shop. With all the truck convoy blockades to the US it may take some time to get the cab.

Test run outside done.
List of needed improvements is as follows.
1. Work out why I have a pogo sticks amount of travel.
2. Let there be suspension articulation!
3. 3s lipo over 2s.

Thats the list.
