Default How to check Shifting Servo settings

Hi Guys,
One of the cool features for the Twin Hammers is the ability to shift on the fly. In order to have this feature we had to use the Aux channel in a two position setting.
We've taken every effort to make sure that the setting from the factory is correct, however there is always a little variance between components and since there is not a lot of "throw" between High and Low speed the end point settings are critical.

Here are a couple key points:
1. Whenever you shift from High to low or vice versa, always be sure to give a little blip of throttle. This will ensure that the "cogs" align. Failure to do this will cause the servo to bind as it's trying to move into it's full travel location. This in turn stalls the servo and might cause it to heat up, which could shorten the life of the servo.

2. These servos are waterproof and have an o-ring around the output gear. As this slowly "breaks in", it may change or free up the setting, so check you end points again. Ideally you do not want to hear the servo constantly buzzing when it is shifted.

3. Ensure that the linkage moves freely when engaged in High or low. To check this, shift it into gear, make sure to give a little blip of throttle and then twist the linkage and ensure it is free moving on the ball studs. If it is not, reduce the throw on the end point until it is.

John Schultz also put this quick video together to explain changing the direction of your shift button.

Thanks for the pointers Rich, and thanks for the great help on the phone earlier today. Runs like a champ now!

Rich was very helpful in giving me pointers and getting my rig up and running properly with the shift servo.

FYI - productsupport@horizonhobby.com address is not valid. Auto response states the email is not monitored and to go to the website and log a Product Support request.

Not the first time either, nor the last I'd bet.

Rich is a prime example of great customer service...

I guess there are positive aspects to having to wait so long to take receipt of my TH (I just picked it up today) I get to see stuff like this upfront...

Also, on the Product Support page there is no selection for Vaterra or TwinHammers. This may need to be added to the selection dropdowns for clarity and ease of use for the customers.
