| 1.9 Tire Choices
Hey guys, Just wondering what you guys are all using for 1.9" tires on the stock rims? I'm looking for something that will be better suited for crawling but go ahead and post which ones you use and what they're good for (ie: speed, sticky, etc.) |

I'm also running ripsaws on axial wheels. I tried flatirons with and without foams, and some rtr sct wheels and tires. Also the stock tires/wheels. For my driving the ripsaws have worked the best. Under 20mph. |

I'm running rc4wd irok on moded stock wheels. Mostly do trail and crawling. These are great on the trail and good on the rocks. Last edited by COORZ; 09-11-2013 at 08:26 AM. |

Sticky Rock Lox for going slow - no real reason other than I like how they look, and the height was spot on with what I was looking for. HPI 1.9 Geolanders for going fast - have enough slip that the truck is not traction rolling. Gives it a nice rally feel almost. |

I snipped the stock tires for practice and messing around on all terrain mostly sandy rock crawling. And I mounted up a set of pitbuls for racing mostly going fast over sandy rocks.

| Re: 1.9 Tire Choices I am using the 1.9 Xl's. Had them on stock wheels with the foams that come with the tires. No issues on the rocks, but for higher speed turning they roll under and the car liked to flip. Just installed them on some Axial beadlocks with the Crawler Innovations foams. Might get out to test tomorrow and see what the difference is. |

Be sure to let us know how those foams work out on the TSL XLs I'm curious been having tons of debate with myself about what route to take. I'm leaning pitbulls with the CI foams right now but more ground clearance is keeping the XLs in the mix.

| Re: 1.9 Tire Choices Same here I'm torn between the XL's and the Pitbulls with Irok's in the mix as I ran them with great success on my SCX

I was using baja claws til they ripped on me, now for little over 2 months I been using 1.9 rc4wd challenger tires they grab great tall like trepadors and they have a good scale look. while unweighted they still crawl good.

The GOOD- the Axial beadlocks are a nice cheap replacement for the stock TH wheels. The axials actually grab the whole bead, not just 1/3 of it like the TH stockers do. The CI foams are nice for what they are intended for- a heavy, heavy rig, or to get the tire stability for faster rock racing/playing. They provide predictable turning at speed with easier to control slides and much less rollovers. They are WAY WAY stiffer than the foams that come stock with the TSL XL's, but they are also much much smaller. They fit the tire well, are a little smaller diameter then the tire is, so you do get some tire flattening for a decent contact patch. The BAd- the only thing I can say is that the foams may be just a bit too stiff for what I do. The car is noticeably more bouncy thru the smaller, mid to high speed rock sections. I hope to take care of this with better suspension tuning though. My shocks and springs are all stock, so they need some work desperately. | |

When I use ripsaws and tsl I use over sized panther foam for super stiff front and pitbull outer and proline inner two stage foam for 2.2 shoved in the rear. For maxxi's I use 1.9 super hard foam from rc4wd on a 7pound rig giving a good flat spot for crawling and strong support for side hilling, same setup for my pitbulls and my challengers as for ci foam I used for flat irons and tsl and ended up ripping my tsl's
