Get this motor and ESC combo with a set of 6 pinions up to 26 teeth (from ebay) Castle Creations SV3 Sidewinder SC WP ESC w 3800KV Motor HPI Blitz SCT | eBay Get this pinion set: http://www.ebay.com/itm/RRP-1050-Rob...-/390837564845. Then get steel clamp on drive nuts because you will strip the rear plastic ones in a few packs. You will need to retain the stock pins from the vaterra. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Racing-S...item1e8a0bf973 I suggest you get the front and rear sway bars and install them to cope with the speed and power, and the GCM rear axle truss is a huge help. Please review how to install the upper links with it as well. Torque twist will be almost gone. Whatever you do, do not get the Traxxas Velineon set up. I had it, and it is terrible. Good speed, but the LVC is terrible. The motor shaft is also too long so you will have to discard the motor and spur cover. You may want to upgrade your steering servo for more power and more speed. I am running the stocker, but it's SAVOX replacement is sitting pretty in the box when it finally dies. Finally with the extra speed and power, you will want to get the Crawler Innovations closed cell (Deuces Wild) foam inserts in whatever tires you decide to run. You will need something firm to handle the speed. Otherwise, gear down to an 18 tooth pinion and an 88 tooth spur for superior crawling. You can't go wrong with the T-bone bumper to bulletproof the front end, but it will hurt your approach angles. I run it on my rig and absolutely love it. They also sell on Ebay threaded stock bodies that I think are cheap and will save you a lot of frustration adjusting the stock front shock collars. I think I have seen them sold for a few dollars. You will also need a good set of drivers for this rig. I recommend a set with replaceable tips, and go ahead and but the replacement 1.5mm and 1.3mm tips. Get yourself some thread lock as well. You will NEED IT. You can see my rig at the following link, although I have not re-installed the interior. Nearly finished TH build with EVERYTHING I have a lot of other mods you don't need. However, you will LOVE the TH. Absolutely LOVE IT. With steel (or heavy aluminum) wheels and the medium sway bars front and rear, it is MUCH MUCH MUCH more stable. You can order each set for around 12 dollars, and with combined shipping on Ebay, you are looking at around 30 bucks. Each set comes with a light, medium and heavy bar, so you can tune to your heart's content. Best of luck, and keep us posted and post your pics! Last edited by MeanTT; 05-08-2014 at 09:22 AM. |

Sadly, MIP doesn't make cvds, but they do have a rear driveshaft.

Nope. There aren't any aftermarket or factory heavy duty cvds.

yea. Its annoying because stock CVD's dont really support the stock turning radius very well. They are fine as far as durability goes though.
