Default anyone tried tracks yet?

I was looking to put some rc4wd predator tracks on a LCC axle for a future project and saw they had fitting kits for the twin hammers. I'm going to get a set of the knuckles for my other project (those knuckles will fit an lcc axle) but was thinking of getting the rear fitting kit too. Puts some aluminum housings on the twin hammers I have (a little beef) and gives me the option to try out tracks.

Just wondering if anyone as gotten their hands on them to check the quality.

Since I already have tracks I think I will pick up a set. I'll post up once I do.

I met a local guy who had a brushless TH with pred tracks on it, locked into high. It was really cool, seemed to be quick, it was entertaining to watch.

got the parts on order. once they show up i'll post some pics and provide some feedback.

right now i'm running a 35T in my twin hammers because i've been using it more for trailer runner / light crawling. putting the tracks on is going to slow it down even more so i have to see if i can get it back to a decent speed with spur/pinion changes. a different motor might be necessary. we'll see!

I'm not sure how the gearing is on a TH compared to a wraith or scx drive train..

But I can compare it this way.. It turned a ax-10 with a 35t into a LCC with a 35t, with the tracks mounted..

Even with the 3500kv HD in my Sexo on 4s, I could tell I liked spinning the tires more.. Lol..

The EVO tracks where a Blast tho! I like bashing too much to keep the tracks on..(for the cost of the things!) So off to the new owner they go, when I find one.

Got the parts from rc4wd today. Seem pretty well machined, everything fitting nice and snug. Mounted up the tracks and took it for a quick spin around the basement. Works fine but is a little slower than I like, which is not unexpected. I'll have to look into a different motor setup.

And a few pics

It looks tough
With the right gearing in the snow it would be a kick.

Agreed. I think mine will be a little to slow for snow runs. Plus I'm not waterproofed!
