| Heyok: Rock Lights on a budget EDIT:Now available for 2S lipo power too! Light up the ground under your crawler to help you choose the right line! These rock lights are made from sealed LED strips that will run from 3S power (~12 volts). A light controller lets you operate the rock lights with a two position channel. This set up is waterproof! Attach the lights to your rig with the already applied 3M adhesive. My preference would be to use the original adhesive to get the light positioned where you want, then make sure they stay in place with a bit of Shoo Goo or Goop etc. This version will operate your your 2S lipo powered rig! To try and keep this item as affordable as possible, there is some work involved for the installer. Connectors for the lights and power have been omitted. The wires going to the lights will be 10 to 12 inches long. Tie all the red wires from the lights together and to the red wire of the light controller. Tie all the black wires from the lights together and to the white wire of the light controller. Plug the receiver plug into a two position channel. Make the connection to a 3S battery to the red and black power wires. My suggestion would be to solder them to the battery connector on your ESC. Part number: RL4S Price: $30 Part number: RL4S2P Price: $40 Includes the four light segments with leads and the light controller for a two cell lipo battery. I like it !!!!!! Can the lights run off 3s without the use of the controller ? Is it necessary to run 4 lights or can a guy add or omit as needed ? |

Thats great, for folks that dont have an open channel. How about the other question ? I am wondering if they need to be run in parallel to acheive proper operation without damaging the lights. Last edited by hotwheels000; 12-04-2015 at 07:15 PM. |

The lights are made to run in parallel from a 3S pack or 12 volts. Just use one or two or whatever you need. Tie all the reds and blacks (I actually think the ones in the picture are brown wires) together. No need to worry about resistors. Red is positive, black(brown) is negative. |

I realize now that the wire lengths on the lights shown in the picture are probably a little short. From now on, the wires going to the lights will be 10 to 12 inches long. If someone wants to buy my prototype set of winch lights, you can have them and the light controller too for $20 plus shipping. Send me a PM if you are interested. Thanks! Can you do a controller that does not need to be plugged into the radio? I don't have a spare port.
