Default Tomi's Venom Creeper

Got my kit after a loooooong wait today. Some hassle in the customs and there we are... A happy man out of the customs door and on his way home.

Started building on about 15:00 and after making food, going to the toilet for NN times (stomach flu or something...) and getting gf from work, I finally had the truck up and running on about 0:00. It took me about 7h to build the kit. ( I blame the flu... )

It was a nice kit to build overall, but there were some problems too:
- Overtight shock body/piston (one piston didn't want to move at all inside the shock body, maybe a casting problem, had to take some material off the piston to make it move)
- the ballends balls were too tight (again casting)
- a couple missing screws (used some leftovers from the kit at the end of the build)
- There are 2 screws per side of the wheel. In my wheels these screws had been overtightened -> can't tighten these holes anymore :(

I built the kit completely stock besides the battery tray on the top (I left the battery holder off, because I probably won't be using it).
The truck might need some weights to the tires, buthave to test first.

Here are some images and the rest of them are here.

3S 1300mAh Lipo on the top (no comments about the temporary wiring ):

Are the tires about the same size as a claw or hammer or are they a little taller??

Tomi,
Great build photos of your Creeper. Hope you feel better so you can get out and play with it.

Thanks for the built. Excellent pictures as well! I just may buy one of these in the spring instead of the Losi or AX-10.

Went out today after piercing the body with some holes.

There's snow on the ground and all rocks are icy, so no climbing today (and maybe not in a couple months either) :(.

I was able to drive the truck a bit, but it was shaded by a problem with rear axle diff locking system. The axle just wouldn't want to stay locked. Popped right off after I clicked it "on".

Must check the tightness of the switch, it might be too loose. Hopefully, because the lock popping off was quite annoying. Just wondering if the remote difflock system would fix this?

Yes you can adjust the tension on the switch. The Diff Lock Kit will hold the position its set to as well.

Does the motor face forward? If not you could face it forward and reverse the motor to eliminate a lot of torque twist and put some more weight up front.

sniders1975: Hammers are 5", the rock ridges are 127mm (=5") so they are the same.

ROCKEDUP RICKY: Piercings are to the truck body . The tire compound feels quite nice, maybe a bit hard compared to Claws / Hammers. We'll see how they hold on rock when someone gets them under real test. I know I won't until spring.

jetboat: I'll paint it... Just have to decide the colours and that may take some time, as you know ;).

88_Pathy: Yup, the motor is faced forwards.

on the rear diff when it doesn't engage, does that seem like a week point..meaning if that's not fixed right away is that seem like a wear point..cause if it is then it will just keep wearing till it can't lock in anymore...

cool pics by the way
