Nice carry box Thomas. I have a similar battery I use when at a site, mine is a little longer 12vdc 7AH Gelcell. That looks like an old Fluke meter, older than mine??!! I think mine is a model-27?? I use a Stanley plastic rollaround tote for my crawler stuff. The top is a table when at comps (it also has small parts bins), the tray inside holds smaller parts & tools, the bottom holds the Gelcell, rig (2.2 on bottom, 1.9 on top of it), wheels w/tires mounted, TX & charger. If it works, great! [Nope, I never noticed you like to build stuff, who woulda figured?.......] |

Man...I cannot believe all that data was lost...unbelievable. Well I had posted a bunch of pics and text about changes made to my rig including taking off my worn Rovers and putting on fully siped and de-lugged Ridgelines so that I could satisfiy the curiosity of a couple of my customers and for my own knowledge. I comp'd on TUesday night, ran 4 courses which were all brutal on a newly moved rock formation at The Crawl Space, Denver's newest indoor crawl spot and Crawler parts oriented store...little hype there... The Ridgelines actually didnt do too bad or at least not as bad as I expected...but they are to hard...the need to be manufactured from a softer compound and then with the de-lugging and siping they would be a great tire. I seemed to be able to climb anything that any of the other guys on Rovers were climbing with a couple of exceptions where the softer compound would have made the difference. The rig ran really well other than a bit of axle hang and I think that was due to being a little less ground clearance on the Ridgelines. They are about 5/8" shorter than Rovers. Up and down hill off camber approaches were good, sidehill was really good, suspension settling was predictable even with the soft "stretched" Venom internal springs up front. Although the Ridgelines did pretty well I have put another set of Rovers on and added a touch of weight back into the wheels...fronts are 12.2oz each and the rears are 9.4oz each with weight, tire, foam and wheel each. I had noticed a slight off set in my fornt suspension on Tuesday night which was shifting the front axle to the left about a 1/4"...turns out the left front lower link was a tad longer then the right so I made the necessary adjustments to realign the front axle. Overall the rig is working right back to where it was a few months ago before I started making all of the changes to it for testing...I need to address a skid plate for the rear axle to help with axle hang but other than that it isnt gonna change much at all. |

sounds good thomas, i heard one thing about puting bee's wax on your links would made them more slik to get over rocks. ive never tried it but do u think puting some on your rear axle would do the same?

I think wax would just attract dirt....Ill work on a skid...a repeatable skid maybe for production

good to know on the ridgelines , like i said i have modded mine and use them on the scaler . they do seem to work well on it , i can't remember what foams i used in them but i think they are the original rover foams
