finally got my rig completed last night around 2am! lets say soldering is interesting!, i didnt do bad with all that ,was fairly simple for being my first time, anyhow i carried it to work with me today and did some climbing on the jobsite after work! i must say ive never had so much fun on a dirt pile! i was hittin some real nice lines! downhill descents were a little hairy as i havent gottin my weights for my rears yet! but the front stays planted nicely! the rock claws do a great job of hooking on to just about anything! cant wait till sat gets here. anyhow what are you guys doing for charging down on the site? im probly gonna have to lug my charger and a bump box to use as a power supply ! works pretty good actually! oh and thanxs guys for the map and the arial pic , that will be all i need to get me there. |

As for batts, I bring extras, but I know a couple guys have quick charged theirs with their car battery, you should be able to do the same. However I keep an inverter in my Jeep so if you have to have an outlet, you can use it. I've also seen some people use one of those portable quick start/chargers. Looking forward to meeting you and checking out your truck. It looks like we are going to have a few others show up so you will get to meet some other VARCOR members.

Remember that a front is coming through tonight, and it is going to be colder on Saturday that it has been around here lately. Looking to be around 40* in the morning. Where the rocks are at FHP, is kinda down in a valley surrounded by trees, so sunlight doesn't help much. Also remember shoes with GRIP!! |

I will be in Richmond for work Monday, and will be around Monday night if anyone wants to crawl. I will put my 2.2 and my super in the truck, so PM me a spot and time for Monday night and I will be there.

At this point in time, VARCOR comps are free for all. This comp stuff is kinda new to us all, so at this point in time, we aren't fancy and don't offer prizes or anything. We are just getting together for friendly competition and experience. Chris did mention bringing up a grill to the comp in Fred-vegas, so we mentioned everyone bringing a few bucks if you ate off the grill. But no specifics as to who was bringing what was determined. I will get a discussion on this, and carpooling from Richmond, started over on the VARCOR site.

I'm glad you came out! We have a pretty good time, it took me a while to come out myself but I'm glad I finally got off my a** and did it. It's far cooler to crawl as a group, the help from others, the trash talking, it's all good! There is no entry fee for the VARCOR events. There is a small fee when an event is held at Hobbytown, but in my opinion, it's worth it. |

Glad you made it Jason, it was nice to meet you and hope you make it this weekend. BTW, I know you have a lot of good footage from Saturday, have you figured out how to get on your PC? |
