not sure how river rock would be for crawling, but if you want something really scenic you might want to go to the south bank of the James River (I'd just park in the belle parkinglot, go across the hanging foot bridge to belle isle, bash around there a bit, then make your way to the footbridge that goes across to the south bank) and get out onto the rocks. really isn't that hard to get to them if you know where you are going. that would be very scenic if nothing else. I would suggest crawlering around some of the steeper trails at Belle Isle, but then you might get your rig run over by a mountain bike. a single 1 square inch contact patch is going to do a number on a crawler, especially when it has at least 60 pounds of weight being supported by said contact patch. and god help you if your crawler is in the landing path of a bike taht just went off a drop. that's probably at least 150 pounds being slammed down onto your crawler.

Well I can't make it to the HTU comp now, but I will be around Saturday morning. I think me and my brother are going to go to FHP early. I would like to get out there around 9:00 or so and then crawl a couple hours.

Let me know if you want to meet up there.

that map gives a pretty good idea of where forrest hill park is. if you go to the intersection of Forrest Hill Avenue and Semmes Avenue while on Semmes, and look to your right, you can't miss it. if you come from the opposite direction on Forrest Hill Avenue and look to your left any time after you pass West 41st street you can't miss it.

This is the simplest way to figure it out. Just put your address into the 'From' field and press Enter. Just park off the road in the grass with the other vehicles, you should see my Green Jeep.

If you still have trouble, let us know and we can meet you somewhere.

Hey do you guys want to set up a couple stages and do some follow the leader instead of everyone just off driving everywhere. I'll bring the tennis balls. Or, if we have at least 5 people, we can do a mini practice comp, the winner gets a dollar from everyone else. No seriously, it would be good practice with real gates though.

I think so far its me, my brother, baldchris, Chargerguy, Crawldad, and maybe Riffister. That's already more than five. I'll talk to a couple other locals and see if they're coming out.
