I've been slacking and not crawling as much as I should, but I'm always down to crawl some at the LRD, Dismal Falls, or even in Salem/Roanoke.

We haven't been running as much as we use to, but we still have rigs and get out when we can. We mostly run scalers and short course trucks now. What sort of rigs are you into youther?

Currently stock ones......LOL!

Two sons are getting a Deadbolt and G6 Faulken edition and I have asked Santa ;) for the 2012 C/R Limited edition. So they've not even been taken out of the box yet. LOL!

I have ran nitro for years but this will be my first experience with crawlers. I've already ordered upgrades.

Have you had a chance to run your new trucks around Blacksburg yet?

Nah, not with the weather. We've been running them around our house. When spring gets here we could do some running in the Blacksburg area then.

I wish this snow would go away. I just got an scx10 Deadbolt and haven't been able to get it out for a ride.

You and me both. I finally knocked the dust off my scaler and have been doing a few mods. Since you're in Radford, you should definitely check out the Little River Dam when the weather clears.

Are there some hiking/biking trails over there? I've lived in Radford for a little over a year now and I had heard there was something going on in that area but never been there.

Hey a local! LOL
Your only about 15 minutes from me.

I don't think there are any trails there near the dam but I am not real familiar with that section either.
I know there are some trails behind the bank across from the entrance to Bissett Park.
Haven't been in there in a long time myself so don't know how good or bad they are.

Yep there are trails over there. When you first turn onto Little River Dam Rd. you'll go under the bridge just before the Sportsman store. Immediately after the bridge there's a road on your left...you take that to the trail head. If you reach the Sportsman you've missed the turn.

I've mountain biked out there a handful of times, though the most recent time was probably 2 or 3 years ago. The trails weren't in the greatest shape then. The biggest issue is nobody is really using them or maintaining them that much, so they get overgrown easily. Should be a trail map on a kiosk at the gate...or at least there use to be. I recommend snapping a picture of it before you go out.

The property merges with the Selu property, which is a wildlife/nature conservancy for the University. My last trip out there was to figure out the trails from the trailhead to Selu for an event with the University's Outdoor Recreation department. I ultimately figured it out, but it was tough due to trail conditions. Hell of a fun ride, though.

So, is there anyone doing any crawling in the area? I've been over to the dam and its a good time. I tried the trails up above the dam and like suggested its too overgrown this time of year. Wildwood has some good crawling spots. Just looking for some more places to do some scale crawling.
