Default places to crawl in roanoke

Hello everyone!

A friend and I was roaming around trying to find a few different places to crawl,(this was between 11pm-5am) we found a few places but not many. :(

Would anyone know of some good spots to crawl? We've been just about everywhere and only found 1-2 somewhat good places. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

A few places we found are -
hollins park(can't remember the name)
a old river spot in garden city next to a old gas station and church
a little spot beside green hill park

The indoor course in Salem does not get used much in the summer months. The regulars are there on Friday nights during the winter.

You may have already been there, but Walrond Park is the home of "lil moab". It is off of Plantation Rd near I-81 (exit 146).

I will be in Roanoke for work the end of September. I will have to stop by crossroads and check out the course. I used to shop at crossroads a lot when I was in college. Definitely a great shop and good people.

Matt and Jeff H. go flying all the time. I haven't been doing much of anything besides 1:1 racing. Matt and I have been doing the slot car drag racing thing over at Slot Car Mania. You should check that out, Phil. Fridays @ 8pm

You Roanoke guys should head down to Radford or to Bland and crawl with us sometime. We mostly run scalers now and occasionally short course trucks, but there are good spots around. In Radford we have the Little River Dam and in Bland we have Dismal Falls. If any of you want to come down, just shoot me a PM.

I live in Pulaski and have found a few trail riding spots. Nothing spectacular for crawling but their is some potential for a man made crawling course here in town. The parks and rec folks have given the go ahead for an r/c club and I am hoping this will take off. There is alot of old concrete chunks and lots of rock in what used to be a baseball field. The town parks and rec designated it as a construction dumping site for rock and concrete. So with that being said is anyone interested in getting together and build a cool crawling course and helping out with the club? Also check out the page on facebook called Coffin's Creative Customs r/c and also the facebook page Virginia's R/C Scale Truck Pulling club.
