| I'm Calling For A Virginia Comp In April!!!
April (warm weather) is three months away, so let's start planning now! There have been a few attempts at creating a comp in central VA, but as far as I can see, they tend to fizzle out with a bunch of "well, that is a little too far for me," "my parents won't let me come that weekend," and "can't we do it somewhere else?" April 24th is the tentative date, and the location is Richmond, VA. Scooteracing has a proven crawl spot staked out on Pony's Pasture down on the James, and I have a spot I am checking out at Bryan Park (5 minutes north of the James). I plan to hold this comp at of of these two locations. I haven't gotten with Joe (Scooteracing) yet about any of this..................but that isn't stopping me!! We are more than three months away, so mark your calenders! Or, if the date needs to change, we have plenty of time to do it. For a VA crawl, Richmond makes sense. Just at the point where I95 meets I64, it is 2 hours from Baltimore MD, 2 hours from the Atlantic Ocean, 1.5 hours from I64 & I81, and 2 hours from Wilson NC. That is a lot of geographical area that is easily accessible via interstates! Just throwing this out there for future discussion! We need to get together and organize ourselves!! |

I assume you plan on running under rccrawler rules? What classes do you plan on having? Any pics of the proposed comp locations? |

Lets get this going. I say comp rigs and scalers. Post up what you are bringing in we will go from there. One of the best things this past weekend at the GA comp was the 1.9 and 2.2 scale trail ride. It was also a night trail ride, so put on the lights and lets go.

This is good - I'm definitely down, I've been wanting to get together with some other guys and kind of compare what I've built and see how it performs against some competition. I'm also curious if what I've built violates any rules or whatever. I don't know how you all feel about running rear steering. My TLT is just so much more capable with it. I'll just have to make sure I have the parts to pin it, I guess. Richmond seems to be a central location. It could be tough for me to free up a whole day (it would be like 2-2 1/2 hours for me to get to) but if we can pinpoint an actual day I will certainly try. |

Rear steer is nice, but it doesn't follow the comp rules. It would be best to lock it out and get use to it. Thanks

I am fairly new to this but I do own a nylint scorpion crawler and a new bright with some mods, 1:6. I will be in Va around that time and I sure would like to gather with people of the same interest and check out other rides and get into the rc crawler scene. Count me in |

What about a capital crawl? OPens it up for thise to the north a little more. Plus there are lots of parks in and around the DC metro area.

Do you have an address for this spot. Is it easy access for cars. Would parking be close to the comp/crawl area? Quote:
