Zip code 53913 It looks like your 177 miles or so away. I'm about 144 miles away from the lake. Here's my pics from my past times at Devils Lake. http://www.freewebs.com/nissan4x4hb/...wicrawling.htm Last edited by Mnster; 09-08-2005 at 10:51 PM. |

Would the 8th or the 9th work? If not I'm pretty flexable. I'll rack up my crawler buddys.

What are the other two guys rigs like? I've seen your Simple Clod the one link with panhard setup very cool. I have a home made stick Clod My brother has a 40/60 4 link Clod and my friend has a custom 4 linked E-maxx. I'll try to bring everybody with me. |

That's cool my friends maxx was stock for a long time. We just changed it over this year still working the bugs out. Stock maxx's are sort of capable at least. They can do smooth hills and smaller rocks that don't require much ground clearance. Yeah I have a few things to do to my rig as well. The body is torn up, I have new Moab tires but no rims yet, I broke a steering knuckle and I striped another gear set last time. I want to pick up few more SMC 3600 packs they are only $24 I think, with that Tower discount that someone posted. Excellent packs by the way awesome long run times, lots of power and cheap. |

It looks like maybe it's just me and Soya. My brother is struggling to get off work. I ordered new wheels this morning. I still have a few more adjustments to work on.

That's allright. Here is a preview of some changes. High clearence links, behind axle steering, and 60/40. What wheels and tires ? Did you change from moabs or to moabs? Last edited by Cole82; 09-15-2005 at 09:30 PM. |

I just went from BFT tires to moabs. Your going to have to show me that behind the axle steering. I tried to make it once but I got frustrated and abandoned the idea. Did you change you wheelbase with your 60/40 setup? Looks good!

Yea the steering you won't be able to duplicate unless the link system is like mine, The servo mounts to the link then a drag link goes to the tie rod. The wheelbase went from 15.6 to 16.5" but it's adjustable by turning the hiem at the end of the link. It will expand from 16.5 to 18.5" Also change from 50/50 all the way to 65/35. |

Thats cool with the adjustability of the wheel base. I'm running about 16" I wouldn't go much more though. Break over angle and turning radius suffers. Also in your pic the nut thats welded to the link looks weak in strength wouldn't it just twist off? I'd weld two nuts or a coupler nut with cross bar rather than just the one so it won't bend the link or break off. I don't know you know the strength and durability of your design better then me. |

It will be alright the steel is way stronger than an aluminum version I made. I thought about a coupler nut but decided a grade 8 nut was just fine. It won't twist of it's cradled on three sides. It sits in the v of the link, not on top. Then is welded all around. I was going for a 16 but forgot to add in 2 heims I measured with just one hiem. I don't mind I'm allways trying to improve. |

Yeah maybe I'm just used to working with aluminium. I guess my brother is back he got the date off. I got my wheels yesterday and I narrowed them up 1 inch and custom drilled the faces. What frequency do you guys run? I'm yellow, Soyas red, and my brothers is green (TQ3 radios). I have a extra set of blue. Last edited by Mnster; 09-18-2005 at 09:49 PM. |
