Yeah you looked very bad, pale and it looked like you where going to barf. You missed a great Devils lake bash. I destroyed one of my rear knuckles while crawling on the hiking trail with the stone steps. First I broke the knuckles arm off then I broke the king pins hole off. I am still amazed that the axle tube did not snap. All of my batterys false peaked the night before so I had to recharge every pack. Gregs TXT was awesome he was running one motor with a gear reduction unit and It had more torque and wheel speed then your emaxx. His pinion came off about half way through the bash. Coles truck crawled very good it just needed better motors it didn't have enough power to make it up some of the climbs. He broke his narrowed wheels apart and had issues with the steering coming loose. Then at the end he striped the gears in his front servo. Overall I think we found a few places along the trails that were very good places to bash that we missed before. We walked the area next to the place we park and tumbled rocks trail. Then went up to the top on that stone step hiking trail. Then came down with broken trucks fixed them and went to the east bluff. I took a few pic's this is the only one that turned out ok. The rest were really screwed up with the light or something. Last edited by Mnster; 10-09-2005 at 01:08 PM. |

When you guys went down to the lake. I was charging the packs. Went about 10 feet stripped both servo horns. Here is my complete list of parts broken: 1 traxxas rod end 2 servo horns 1 servo gear set 2 steering bolts broke 1 norrowed rim 4 body pins 1 body post It was good crawling None of that stuff broke on that log ride with 7 foot drop that it did twice. I forgot the camera so I don't have pics. Hopefully Greg emails them to me. |

Yeah those Dubro servo horns suck one time I and Soya went through 5 or 6 horns in one day. Upgrade to alum servo arms or Black KB servo savers. We should have gotten a video of the log ride that was awesome. Last edited by Mnster; 10-09-2005 at 01:25 PM. |

I may possibly go back at least one more time before the snow falls. I was kinda bored today and it made me wish I was still at the lake just to explore some of the areas I've never been to. I also might go out and explore that starved rock place sometime.

Had a great time, didn't really break anything and made it home in one piece. Got a few more ideas like a little longer wheel base, lower everything in the frame, 1/4 scale servos and figure out how to lessen the torque twist. I'm ready to go again before the snow flies and thinking about checking out the parks around Danville. Lots of river rock and bloulders over there. Give me the rest of the day to get the pics out. |

Give me till tommorrow to get the pics out, I left the camera at home and work is the only place i have a connection right now. I guess I forgot the camera after I came out his morning to find my jeep had been in a hit and run while parked out in front of the house. Luckily it was a nieghbor who, after the police showed her parts to her explorer under my jeep, finally admitted to hitting it at 5:00 this morning. Funny thing was, she tried to creep by us at 8:30 while the police where writting the report. It was her fog light and valance dragging on the ground that gave her away. Least she is insured.

Danville IA? They have the worlds smallest LHS. Ya some where closer to home on the border is prefered. That sucks about your jeep. IS it the same one you drove up there? This thread is really long. Greg I loved your txt I'm in the thinking stage of my brand new txt. |

Sounds like all of you had a good time on saturday, I wanted to go, but I had a major explodetion in my front axel on Friday when my crawler got stuck in a hole in the rocks by my house. I striped and broke most of the gears in the axel. So now its all apart again. If you plan another trip before winter, let me know.

Yeah we need to scope out more central IL areas it seems it would be better not having everyone drive far. Still Devils lake is king of the rock places at least so far. We need to find a more local to everyone location. Then have a few Huge yearly events at Devils Lake. I might go scope out the Starved rock place this week if I have time. The JCWhitney Auto parts store is down there. |

There is a group of two guys with emaxx's from the Chitown website that are going to Devils lake the weekend of the 11th 11-13th Nov. I might try to make their event just to show them around the park.

I was talking about Danville, IL. The park around there was an old strip mine. I canoe the river at least once a year and I know some places that have some big rocks, I just need to figure out how to get there by car or foot. Yeah, my TJ got hit. Turns out is was the wife of the cop who lives down the street. Hummm, wonder if she really got a ticket(s). Did $2K of damage. Good freinds with the body shop who is gonna fix it though.... I gots pics.... check your mail |
