Dodge Project

Nice looking truck, I am about to start my scaler build based upon a Dodge Dakota I had once, but I will have to make it a ram body. Did that body fit on the scx chassis just fine?

Yep. I didn't have to move anything. I did have to make my own body posts for the rear. After I did body posts a friend of mine suggested velcro, as that's how he attached his scaler body. That way no posts showing. I would probably do that if I had it to do over again.

Glued up the flares today. The body has a strange shape for the wheel wells due to it being for a savage and not a true scaler. I had to trim the flares to make them fit and do rub on the tires at full flex, but then so did the body. I'll have to watch and see if the glue holds or if I keep ripping them off. I feel the stock sliders stick out too far, so I will take a dremel to them later and cut them back a bit. The front bumper is still a touch too wide I think, but I think I will leave it until I can bend a real one. Anyhow, I really like how the flares widened out a body I felt was a bit too narrow. I really like the look it gave the truck. I will be doing the roll/light bar next. Just waiting for the lights to come.
