The Eye's 2011 TTC Rig

Oh! How about running it off a Sidewinder or a Mamba Max then.

i do have the Mamba Max that was going with my HH 7t, i could use. but i think i'm going to try the Traxxas system just because... plus i like that is is water proof.

But the Traxxas system will only take 3 cells, as the Mamba Max will run 4 cells, but i'm not sure if the motor will take 4 cells.

The drag break issue could be a problem,

I think you should add some more tube work....
JK.. looks good man! I think I like it better without the spare also.

i'm bringing my Xrten up this weekend for it's first ever run. Oh, and I got a little TTC project coming up too.. when's Indy's next TTC event?

guess i'm not cool enough for you to answer my question

 sorry ... i had to get a few things ................... but i see a need to have this running mid Jan 2011.... In a park on the west side 8)

WOW

Makes me think i should just build a Axial Tranny

I was just bustin your balls...:lmao:

I just needed to know how long I had to get it together.
From the looks of it i'll have to make mine heavy too.

I think you'll be fine without the drag brake, it didn't seem like it was necessary at the last event. Those Meyhem's look awesome by the way."thumbsup"

Bill and I will be there sunday, hopefully a little early. Anything special planned? Everybody throw in on pizza?

ok, so tonight i worked on taking my truck from 12.5" to 13.5" WB ...

and it looks much better.

Kinda reminds me of a dragster with that long nose it has. :ror:

I take it you stretched it out an inch all in the front? What's the weight bias F/R, as it sits?

Now to work on placement in side this mess :lmao::lmao:

3 servos
receiver
esc
summit tranny
brushless
3 cell

Rx is easy, wherever it fits and you don't have to buy too many extensions :ror: They're usually quite small so it's not too much of a problem.

Rig looks good, especially with the longer wheelbase. Not surprised on the weight. Lots of metal work, big ass tranny "thumbsup"

Ask Andy :lmao: Sorry, had to put that in there as he ran into some issues. For the most part, I think they're actually better given that they're a sealed unit. I went with a brushed motor, more of an open can design, and had it die on me partway through in about 4 events before it finally smoked and I ran the rest with a Tamiya silver can . If you go brushed, make sure to try and seal it up well.

Rear steer wasn't allowed this year, however new scale rules are being developed. Can't say anything since they're not finalized yet, but I'd put in rear steer anyways. You can always lock it out if need be "thumbsup"

I was running a handwound brushed motor btw..

Ryan and chino were running brushless though

Really? I could have sworn with the speed of that rig it was brushless. Oh well, there you have it, two of us with brushed motors that ran into issues during the TTC. Guess it makes for a better case for brushless.

3 and 4s ran a 35t motor.

grit killed it, I snapped the brushes and it started working again...

BTW forgot to mention, awesome build "thumbsup"

ANYONE USING WHEEL WIDENERS ?

I HAVE THEM ON THE TRUCK NOW, BUT I'M NOT SURE IF I LIKE THEM OR IF THEY WILL BE A WEAK POINT.

I LIKE HOW THE TRUCK LOOKS, BUT IF IT IS ANYS GOING TO BREAK THEN I NEED TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TONIGHT. "thumbsup"

THANKS

looks like a kick azz truck, you might want to check traxxas sight but i think you can run the esc on 2 or 3 cell lipo.

Thanks "thumbsup"

yepper, 3cells for sure .. it is what a ran when it was in my slash "thumbsup"

and if 3 cells is not good enough then we go back to the Mamba Max and run 4 cell
