Beers

That's a fair assessment of American beers. Their market share is ENORMOUS compared to the beer manufacturers you're seeing in this thread. Like mid twenty to high teens in percentage of sales for each of the big companies, and low single digits for the "micro brews". Every now and then Anheuser-Busch makes a knock off specialty "craft" beer, but they don't seem to stay on the market for very long. And most of the typical American piss beer is expensive too.

same over here..there's the big boys who sell the majority and it's mostly crap. Brands are favoured by state a fair bit. Some of the big mobs do "craft" brews, some have smaller brew "labels" under a different name but owned by the same mob. There are a lot of micro-breweries around but finding them and being able to buy their stuff is hard, especially when you're in the middle of no-where where the locals only drink the mass produced rubbish.
I'm heading home to see the family for xmas this year, there's a great pub there that has a great selection both on tap and by the bottle, I hit it every time I go home. Also a bottlo with a huge selection, I'll be getting some American stuff this time round. I usually buy a couple hundred $$ (a dozen or so beers) and have 1 a month as a treat until the next time I go up home.

I gotta say EeePee, by the time Febuary rolls around you'll be responsible for quite a bit of extra weight, after your hamburger thread I went and did US style hamburgers for a while and now I can't wait to get a PROPER US beer in me..."thumbsup""thumbsup"

That's good. :ror:

The micro brews are definitely becoming much more popular lately. It wasn't long ago Sam Adams was called a microbrew, I don't think they can be called that anymore, they're everywhere now.

I was having fun with the burgers. I almost started a taco thread last week or before, that was my new kick. Flank steak, onion, cilantro and flour tortillas. Fantastic flavor for so few ingredients, I don't know how I did it.

Here's what I got tonight to eat. One's a veggie, the other is a BBQ chicken with bacon and onion and BBQ sauce.

And some sweet beers.

Cheers!

... maybe we need a pizza thread.

I think this is my favorite of all the DIPA, IIPA, IPA varieties..

It sucks to be me sometimes. However, a fresh six pack of Racer 5 makes it a bit easier.

Cheers!

i tried one i liked tonight..dead frog mandarin orange pale ale..gonna go get the mixed pack tommorow

Dead Frog Brewery - Dead Frog Mandarine Orange Amber Ale

I like so... so... many beers and ales and lagers but...... I think i would treat "dead frog" like a drug. Just say no. I mean I drink 8 on a workday and still yea after 10 I might try it but sober I'm not gonna come close lol. Glad you like it. Damn I wish I could still get lowenbrau in the states. My favorite ever.

someone has heard my prayers and a local bottlo has started stocking craft & international beers...."thumbsup""thumbsup" me happy boy now

I know you'll all say 'meh', but i got onto a SAMUEL ADAM lager which I had last night and a CONEY ISLAND IPA, which finds a home tonight. Well you may say 'meh', but for this country town it's a quantum leap in beer consumption.....best bit is they'll happily source and stock something if you ask.....

When I work out how to post up pics from the phone I'll whack some on...

One of my favorite brews this time of year..... Samuel Smiths "Winter Welcome Ale". It's seasonal from across the "pond". Available from....let's say.... Thanksgiving thru Christmas and that's it folks.

Very, very tasty and high octane too, so be "responsible"! :D

Those that have tried it know what I mean and those that have not should. Fantastic holiday brew! "thumbsup"

Loving the holiday brews!

Holy giant headed, fizzy Belgian Ale. Almost champagne like on the carbonation,

It is still as tall 5 mins later, I have yet to take a sip
