That's a fair assessment of American beers. Their market share is ENORMOUS compared to the beer manufacturers you're seeing in this thread. Like mid twenty to high teens in percentage of sales for each of the big companies, and low single digits for the "micro brews". Every now and then Anheuser-Busch makes a knock off specialty "craft" beer, but they don't seem to stay on the market for very long. And most of the typical American piss beer is expensive too.
same over here..there's the big boys who sell the majority and it's mostly crap. Brands are favoured by state a fair bit. Some of the big mobs do "craft" brews, some have smaller brew "labels" under a different name but owned by the same mob. There are a lot of micro-breweries around but finding them and being able to buy their stuff is hard, especially when you're in the middle of no-where where the locals only drink the mass produced rubbish.
I'm heading home to see the family for xmas this year, there's a great pub there that has a great selection both on tap and by the bottle, I hit it every time I go home. Also a bottlo with a huge selection, I'll be getting some American stuff this time round. I usually buy a couple hundred $$ (a dozen or so beers) and have 1 a month as a treat until the next time I go up home.
I gotta say EeePee, by the time Febuary rolls around you'll be responsible for quite a bit of extra weight, after your hamburger thread I went and did US style hamburgers for a while and now I can't wait to get a PROPER US beer in me..."thumbsup""thumbsup"
