My OG Hilux build....

Just a quick update. No this project has not been forgotten about. Others have just presented them self to me.

Non the less. she is a full on runner now. Got all the electronics mounted up in a new electronics tray. All nice up and out of the way!

Still need to get some small lipos and and interior. Not to mention I need to start looking for some bumpers and sliders! ;-) Gotta protect that body!

Here is a family shot, of the 1.9's that is.

OK... I need to get this thing DONE before I start building my Wraith! I am looking for ideas for:

1.) A front bumper that I can mount a winch to.
2.) Simple sliders.
3.) A rear bumper.

I want to keep the desings some what clean and simpe, so as not to take away from the looks of the body. I also am looking for something that is not like all the other pre-fab type ones that are on the market.

Well.... After long last..... She is no longer a shelf queen......

Now to repair the week spots on my drop bed.... like all of it.

UPDATE:

So.. after the last comp, I found out that using plastic weld can only go so far, my drop bed crumbled, snapped, and utterly fell apart. It was horrible. I was so disappointed with it that I almost scrapped the whole idea, and started with plans to make it into a truggy.

As I was drafting up ideas, I started thinking of other ways to make a drop bed, and one that is correct to a step side bed this time. I did not want to start off with plastic again.. not durable enough for the way I wheel these things..

So, I found my self buying a welder.

Now be nice here... I am truly a amateur when it comes to using a welder, and I know that my welds look.... well... like SH*T. They are only gonna look better with practice, but it's a start... "thumbsup"

Small update:

Got to a stopping point on the bed work, and am much happier with it thus far. Just gotta run to the hobby store to pick up some small strips of styreen for some finishing detail work. :ror: So now my attention has moved to a custom front bumper/stinger, rear bumper and some slider.

First up.. a bumper/stinger. Again.. be kind here. This is my first attempt at welding and fabrication. But, I happy with where I am up so far.

Possibly. I need to pick up a esc wire for it if I get a chance. I some how misplaced it ....or melted it and never noticed. Your choice. :)
