2008 Skyline

Sweeeet car, I'm a SKyline fan since Gran Turismo 1!! :flipoff:

Hell yeah! I remember moddin the hell outta my Skyline in GT and whoopin some ass!

The front end of the new one kinda reminds me of the new Eclipse. Dont care for it. The rest of the car looks nice though.

We've actually had the Skyline for a few years now. The Infinity G35 is basically what Nissan sells in Japan as the Skyline, although its not the GTR per se, it is a Skyline.

BTW, I saw one of the mules the other day. Here in Stuttgart you see Mercedes mules everyday so you kinda get used to seeing test cars. Anyway, I was out near the airport and pullled into a gas station and saw a taped up, blacked out, covered up beast in the other lane getting topped off. I walked over to take a look, figuring it was a new AMG S-Class or something. The guy diriving it made out like he didn't speak english but when I asked if this was a new S class he smiled and said, Nissan!! So I was like, ahhh the GTR!! He just smiled and shrugged his shoulders like "I can neither confirm nor deny"!! I just stood around and waited for him to take off. When he started it up it started up with a nice deep growl and then just purred. He wacked the gas a couple times and waved as he eased it out into traffic. Let me tell you, forget JT, Nissan has brought sexy back. Just wish I had $100 grand they're gonna be going for. Its like the S2000 when it first came out, MSRP was like $30k but you couldn't get'em for less than $40k.

Yeah Brandon,,,,,, very cool. It could use a little better acceleration though.

11.6 sec. 1/4mi,,,,,,,,, kinda weak.

JK
That thing launches hard for not having big-ol slicks.

Fast and furious sucked.. Ya guys need to get over it..lol.. I think its funny how after the 1st one a supra was thee car to have, 2nd one came out, everyone has a boner for the skyline... Its funny but yet kinda sad...

Top Gear magazine put the GT-R and the Audi R8 against one another.

The R8 won.

I like how they kept the tail lights somewhat the same..The numbers are pretty decent too.Not a bad Nissan. I agree that it looks like the 350'S cousin, but it still has it's own personality

its supposed to have a resemblance. the 350z is the sports car, the 350gt (aka infinity g35 in america or skyline 350gt everywhere else in the world) is the grand touring [family 4 seater] version, and the new skyline R is the ultra desirable super hot techno sports car...I love it. I love my g35 too...

"thumbsup"

Nissan just keeps coming up with better and better stuff every year. For 70k, this looks pretty tough to beat. Also, Coligny, neither this nor the 350z use Renault engines, both are offshoots of the VQ engine series, which was introduced in 1994, 5 years before Nissan started ganging up with Renault, so if anything the Laguna has a Nissan engine. Frankly, Nissan's alliance with Renault has been one of the best things they could have done, they're now on solid financial footing and coming out with new awesome technologies, and their reliability hasn't gone down at all. If Renault has effected Nissan at all, it's been their design language, and I'll be the first to admit I think the Z06 is a better looking car (despite that you couldn't give me a corvette)

Edit: I almost forgot to mention that the VQ series engine is the only engine to be on ward's ten best engines list every single year since the list's inception. Best of all, mine has 175,000 miles and still does not leak a drop from anywhere. Should I go on about how great a motor this is?

I also dont really like the styling of the body on that car. Im not a fan of 350Zs either. The grill / front clip and the almost boxy look is what made me like them so much. The new bodywork is just... not very original. I think this is way better looking.

Or maybe one of these.... My favorite....

I'd rather have a Porsche 911 Turbo, but this is a close second for sensible dream car. At the top though, it has to be the Ferrari 599.

I like it, but like the Mercedes S65 AMG better, but that's not a fair comparison. I'm a big fan of Range Rovers, and 80K is what a Range Rover costs about..so..tough choice
:D
