4PK Setups, Tips, Tricks and Help

got my 4pk set up by your vid.great info thanks. just have one problem i would like to overdrive the rear at times is there a seting i can change.set the mix at a 100 so i can go up to 120 and it works butt not enough.thank for all your help great job

Sorry, 120 is the max. I can't say I have ever really had people want to overdrive more then 20%. If you need more I would just suggest using a rear burn.

There is an older setup that can be used to drop the front motor down, but I do not suggest this for several reasons. It just adds more complications to the setup and wastes time while on course. If you think you must have this option I will post up the instructions on this old setup.

This might not be the place to ask this but I trust you with electronics Harley. I was having some servo issues and wanted to check the output on my BEC. Can I set it to 7.2v or does the receiver restrict me to 6.0v? I have it in my head that the receiver can only have 6.0v.

Perfect, that may help. Would the BEC build any heat being attached to the 2 Sidewinder micro ESC's?

Do you mean physically attached to the 2 sidewinders or just electronically?

If you mean physically, it will likely build a small amount of heat but I wouldn't expect too much. However when packing 3 pieces together that don't have any sort of heat sink and taking away any air flow possibilities, you will want to pay special attention to the temps.

They are physically attached together, I have been keeping an eye on temps and they don't build much heat, warm but not hot at all. RX, 2 Sidewinder Micro and BEC are all in a nice little package in the chassis. I do have it shrink wrapped together. Very little heat but I have not measured the temps. Lots of airflow around the package.

"thumbsup"

The only compatible RX's are the 603FS, 603FF, 604 and 614. The 603's are the cheapest but are only 3 channel.

The Hobbyking RX's are advertised as 4ch but are really only 3ch. I have seen a higher failure rate then the real deal RX's but the cost reflects that.

yeah, that's why i'm skeptical about getting those...i dont need to be chasing a runaway truck, or have one fall in water when i'm crawling by the shoreline...

thanks for the info...

i cant wait to see your review of the 4pk super...i'd love to see how the dual esc function works better than how you have the 4pk setup on your video...too bad futaba cant just do a firmware update on the older guns...

I will likely keep my dual ESC format the same as it is. The dual ESC functions will allow you to control the digs with a DT switch. But the old programming will still work. I think it's a better setup.

Harley, was wondering if you could help. I'm really stupid when it comes to programming the 4pk. I've tried searching but it really doesn't show a link. Do you have a write up on how to use the 4pk 3rd channel to control the 2 speed tranny shifting? I've been searching for days. Help...

Select the dial menu.
Select which DT button you would like to use.
Set the value to 2p (it will be the value just past 100)
Set your EPA's for the servo.
