84 Chevy Mud Bogger

Well i'm gonna give the scale 1.9 a shot here. I've always been a fan of the mud bogging so i thought i would build one that for when i get stuck i got something to do while i'm waiting on a tow. I'm gonna make this thing as close to scale as possible right off the hop with the chassis so this is what i got so far. And there won't be any springs on the shocks.

Thanks. Well i got the dual headlights done tonight. i just got to come up with an idea for the signal lights, either paint them in or cut out the grill and get some yellow leds for it

your shackle angle needs to be adjusted. i know there is no weight yet but its too much either way.
 
The tires are just temp for right now. i'm thinking of going with the rc4wd mud thrashers.

The head lights were pretty easy just cut the light buckets off the two grills from the backside then glue them on as far up and as far down as they go and just put a piece of plastic between them.

But you do screw up one grill and you have to make new lenses aswell. i wish i would of done it a long time ago.

I really like it so far. Your frame is great. BTW, make sure you stain and seal that wood if your gonna be mud-boggin'! :lol: As far as your signal lights, you can just use an orange or yellow Sharpie over some clear plastic or lexan. It stays transparent, but tints the plastic. As far as the shackles, I think they should just be a little more verticle. Also, shouldn't they fold over to the outside? Don't quote me though...maybe someone that knows for sure should chime in.
 
PIMP. id switch to rc4wd mud slingers though. you wont get far with those tires.
love the frame, and wood, great use of resources.

Mud thrashers are in reality street radials. Swamper boggers are street tires.

but cut boggers or tsl's now we are talking.

This picture is my idea of a mud bogger tire, and they look sweet!

Nice start by the way. Pretty cool building a bogger"thumbsup"
 
I like the slingers too. there just a tad too agressive i was thinking of trimming the corners down just a little bit not so boxy but rounder maybe hook em up to a drill and take them to some sand paper.
Or cut something down. those imexs are pretty slick.

Anyways got the back window done tonight and the signal lights in the dremal got away on me on the one side so i think i'm gonna redo the whole thing since i got a extra chevy grill and cut them out a different way.

Seriously though. Good looking truck."thumbsup" Also From my experience..Any bogger looking tire should work good in the mud, I find that wheel speed is crucial.
How do you have the leafs mounted to the axles? Sorry if I missed it in the thread.;-)
