Look its no doubt that the way the military is set up,your stuck once you are there........But they signed up for it,thats the reason the min enlistment was 4yrs.So you can serve under a commander and chief whom you agree with their ideas.
You call it fanatical.....to go to war?
Yes the enemy belivs whole heartedly in what they are doing,so what
Like i said, just cuz you disagree with me,doesn't make you right, you are right in your eyes,I am right in mine
The enemy is right and justified in their eyes swell.
These types of conflicts can only be settled with a clear victory, not by treaty, but by bloodshed, either they will win,as we loose our stomack and will after enough blood shed
or we will win, when they realize we will never stop hunting them down till they are all dead
That's the thing, this is not a battle in the usual sense, there is not 1 single victor.
Every side is a loser.
If you disagree with this then please tell me what has to happen for this victory to occur?
Saddam is gone in Iraq, the country has blown up into civil war that's torn and fragmented the country.
I've heard it said many times by people that should know better that is was only after Saddam was outed the west realised how good a job he was doing.
In Afghanistan the Taliban are outed to the fringes, then come back strong.
Many times the west have INSTIGATED talks with the Taliban to try and get these people they called terrorists to sit at the same table with them, to talk about their role in the future.
So please tell me what is considered a win, because not 1 other single person knows.
The pain, hurt and sacrifice that our troops have made over there to oust the Taliban because they were told they were the enemy.
To me it's a massive kick in the teeth to even consider these same twatty politicians are now considering bringing this group back to the negotiation process.
It's always been the same though, politicians say 1 thing (don't negotiate with the enemy or terrorists) then do the exact opposite behind closed doors, IRA, Mujahideen, Milošević, Stalin etc etc etc.
And yes it is absolutely certainly fanatical to go to war.
Be that defending your country from an invading army or attacking a neighbouring country.
Tell me a war that wasn't fought and instigated by fanatics at the very least on one side if not both.
WW2, Nazi's were fanatical in their superior race, Japan with it's fanatical soldiers and pilots.
Korea/Vietnam the USA was fanatical in it's efforts to not allow the spread of communism.
Falklands war, Argentina fanatical in it's efforts to retake the islands.
etc etc etc
There ALWAYS has to be an enemy Paul, if you were able to travel around in time it wouldn't matter what time you were in there would always be an enemy, it's just way the human race is.
