Im looking for a cheap brushed motor for my wraith kit that will be good crawling and have enough wheel speed to clean the tires in mud and water I know theres good ones out there just don't want to spend a lot on one that will die from grit

stock axial 27T maybe? I know a bunch of people on hear would let there stockers go for cheap.

21 turn traxxas titan works good. plenty of speed and power and ive ran mine through mud and water. granted it wont last forever, but i dont expect it to. and not terribly expensive. also ran the stock motor on my LNC through lots of mud and water an it held out pretty good. but its a 35 turn (advertised as 55 though).

My advice, stay away from sealed endbell motors such as the Traxxas and Axial offerings. Once you get grit in them, which you will, they die quickly.

Removable endbell motors, such as the Integy Lathe motors, or Holmes Hobbies sportsmaster, can be easily dissembled, cleaned, and brushes replaced. This makes it possible to service them to extend their life after you get grit in them.

My suggestion is the Integy Lathe motors in the 35 through 55 turn range. The lower turn motors have more wheel speed and power, the higher turn motors crawl smoother and last longer, especially if frequently run submerged.

The lower you gear your truck the longer the motors will last. I run a 13 tooth pinion with the 35T and a 16 tooth pinion on the 55 turn.

Hopefully you have an original sidewinder, and not the SV2, which is notorious for letting the magic smoke out when running brushed motors.

I have run both an integedy 45 turn and a Titan 21 turn. Stock gearing the 45 is a little slow, but crawls good. Probably prefer a 35 turn. The Titan is good. I finally smoked mine on stock gearing. I would suggest dropping a couple teeth. The titan is good for over 14 volts and less than 20 bucks. Hard to pass up.

several people around here are going to the 21t titan. It has good speed with some low end grunt and when it dies they are fairly cheap. I think the biggest deal was everyone was tired of burning up $75 motors so they just went to something that didnt hurt the wallet so bad.

just rinse motor with clean water when you are done. Just easy on the throttle and flush motor with garden hose, the dry it out driving a little bit. Holmes all the way. I have his cheap 27 turn sport and can easily clean out and rebuild. "thumbsup"
