chevy prerunner/trophy truck build

See :(

I used 8-32 all thread and aluminum tubing......cut to length and chuck the all thread up in the cordless and screw it in to the aluminum tubing until you have equal threads sticking out both sides and the put your rod ends on and your done. Only problem is you wont be able to mount your shocks to them......Maybe if you use all thread and brake tubing you could weld on some shock mounts........Good luck

if brazed or welded some super thin sheet metal should suffice for strength when boxed and be light enough to still keep fairly light

Well here is a little progress. Finally mounted the front arms to the chassis.

I can't wait to finish this bad boy it already looks awesome. I have some seats and a steering wheel that I'm gonna put in and it's gonna have interior (it won't be very good looking but from the outside u won't notice) and I have a little figure so yeah it will look really cool when it's all done. I can't wait.

Got my front shocks mounted. Sorry for the delay of updates been buisy. But gonna get some done also have a peace put out to put the transmission on gonna get tha build soon

I'm so sorry guys I know it's been a long time. I have been extremely busy with school and work.

On the trucks note. I decided to just start with 2wd and maybe latter go to 4x4.

I have the plate for the transmission need to make a cut to fit it in. Gonna do that soon need to get a motor (want like a 12 turn) need to get the gear for it want a big one. (Want this truck fast) and I need a new transmitter. Fab work I need to make steering links, rear tire rack, cut body for tire rack, and make body mounts, and I need to make water proof electronics box. Here is a pic of what I got done in the time got front arms done.

Inreresting build! keep it up! but lose that front driveshaft or stop calling it a Prerunner!

Yeah I did to many issues. But there are some prerunners that have that.

But I would say its a trophy truck. And if I could I would make the whole role cage but I'm not that good.

For a motor, i would suggest a tacon brushess motor from hobbypartz.com . You'll need a different esc, but for a $25 motor, i wouldn't complain. I use one in my vintage buggy, and i love it! Is got TONS of power!

But of course, that would only be if you wanted it to just be a racer, or just a fun speedster. I have used a 12t, and it was good for about 3 months.
