Very good.
You're speaking of the Cobra Lathe.
What's the adjustments?
When I first got my lathe I had been racing for a few years, but never had the $$ to buy a lathe so I always had someone else cut all my comms. When I got my cobra I was clueless because I just saw the guys at the track toss my arm on their lathe and turn away. I wasnt getting the same diameter across the comm after the cut and I wasnt getting consistant cuts as far as the finish was concerned. I ended up using 2 small pieces of card stock between the bit and the "holder" to get a true comm and finally figured out that I had the bit too low in relation to the comm. None of it was really major once I figured out WTF i was doing... I use flat lexan as my bit height shims instead of using card stock or something else. Ive found its easier to reproduce the same results with lexan compared to other shim material Ive used when changing bits. One other thing Ive learned the hard way is dont take the lathe apart. I did once and Ill never do it again. I thought I needed to clean where all of the thin teflon shims are and it really isnt the case. I spent a LOT of time getting it back together and cutting correctly. Those shims are a PITA to get back in where they are supposed to be and allow the blocks to move smoothly.
