Did Fourwheeler just kill TTC, or save it?

im sure it'll do just fine. i personally like the old challenges with big, nasty truck pulling semi's and dumptrucks uphill, i remember falling in love with "the killer bee"chevy, or the landcruiser with the viper motor. or the smaller rigs like the government mule etc. let the buggies bounce somewhere else

well the title is "TOP TRUCK CHALLANGE" and not "TOP BUGGIE/TRUGGIE" :lmao: ....i say let the true trucks rule "thumbsup" .......bob

....

Remember the tire pit? That was sweet.
Or the compediters that drove there rig to TTC won and drove home?

While the buggies are entertaining I agree, it is the "Top Truck Challenge" and IMO they have made it less a challenge. Looking forward to next year and the new old format!

I like the idea.

I dont like the you can still just throw a body on a buggy rule, that seems kinda nascar to me.. So now all the big buck buggys will run fiber glass shells modified all to hell like monster trucks do..

It will maybe work for a year or two and then the full bodied tube buggies will take over..

I totally understand getting rid of ag tires. Your sponsors aren't going to want to put money into and event where the winning rigs are running ag tires. I'd rather see Interco, Pitbulls, and Mickeys anyway.

I also like making the rigs look like real trucks. Buggies are cool and all, but they should have to run real body panels. These rigs represent what TTC rigs should be.

Oh, and let me just get this out on the interwebs. I think Doug McColloch is the biggest dipwad in the industry. I quit reading Four Wheeler (after 25 years) when he became the editor and I have to mute all my videos when he starts talking. What a tool.

It seems like the scaler vs crawler debate.

I personally think it should be just trucks. Now we'll see how far people can bend the rules!

I vote Saved it.

Too many times you see a well known buggy builder or insane over the top rig. They have their place but really,,,, the new rules are only going to up the level of driver skill VS. rig built to kill.

Saved!!!! The buggies are cool but real world wheelers and real world obstacles are more fun to watch. Now the obstacle course wont have to have 6 foot deep holes to stop rigs on 54s

I haven't watch it since jr's bronco a few years back. I just like to trail ride, quit the comps when the rigs started getting very $$$$$.

if its a top TRUCK challenge..
then no jeeps,no landcrusiers,no sami's..
just chevy,ford,dodge,nissan,toyota's then right?
oh and datsun too.

i agree with the no ag tires rule..

the people vote on the entries anyway right?

i really liked TTC back in the day.. have VHS tapes (yes you youngins.. they are sitting next to the 120 cassettes I have :flipoff:)....

I always liked it... then the truggies, buggies, scratch builds, ag tired huge SOB's came in..

it ruined it for me... but while the crowd got bigger.... and fans like me didnt like it anymore.. then they made the tough truck challenge..... meh still didnt do it..

now i have no problems with a vehicle in the TTC.. however it's roots were a OEM FRAMED LEGAL ON THE ROAD IN YOUR STATE driver.... and that is what it should be...

cmon...

while i love watching Jordan Tanners videos on youtube...
$80k screamin rock buggie with a 434 motor and front/rear steering... it isnt legal in any state... so they should have a mega build it from scratch top truck...

but like i said. the ORIGINAL TTC was a OEM Framed vehicle.. modified....

not a make whatever and throw an OEM badge on it and your good...

the classification on a truck is vague.. if you look under the hood of a geo tracker.. it says TRUCK under the hood.. i know cuz i used to tell my sis in law to stop calling it a truck.. but then she put me in my place with that sticker under the hood.. it was used for the serp belt or emissions or something...

yes people vote.. but not everyone votes off the rules...

if you say you have to have a stock truck slightly modified in an RC event..

say a ax-10 scorpion shows up.... and you look at it and it has a non ax-10 scorpion frame... how is it a ax-10 scorpion???? i know it is based off of it.. but still same thing...

im with you 100% on this...

im a die hard chevy guy.. but this guys truck was pretty much the only one that made it up the sandy hill... dual predator carbbed truck running ground hawgs (my tire of choice :flipoff:)....

Time will tell if this ends up being a good or bad move for them. I agree with the no ag tires rule. To me, the entry of buggies and truggies was just the next step in the evolution of the sport. People could only take true "trucks" so far in terms of performance. It is a voted for event. If the readership really was all about trucks, they wouldn't have voted for the buggies and truggies to enter in the first place.
