Those that don't believe are kept out just because they didn't believe? Sounds kind of harsh.

I will not get drug back in , I will not get drug back in.
I have wondered about the people that have never heard of the bible . Having said that , we have prety much all had a chance to hear , read of our lord .
The plan of salvation is so simple a child can understand it.
accept ,repent , be baptised . "go and sin no more !" There is were a lot of churches do not share in the same way of thinking.
some churches fell that once you are saved you are saved. Some feel you can fall from grace.
If you live your life in the light, are you covered for any sins you have not asked forgivenes for ?
That is why there will be no churches in heaven .
Only your personal blood bought belivife in God will save you.
so many churches have divided over what they feel the bibles says.
The longer you walk with God the simpler it should be.
Once saved , you try to do good walk in the light help people , lead others to him.
again another one, "luke warm christians I will sprew you out of my mouth!"
I am not sure that is meant to be taken litterally , but it does not sound good.
I wish and hope all men would find eternal life by giving their life to him.
I know that oh so many will not. But I will do my best to share my testomony with any who care to hear it. Will try to help with questions , or try to find some one that can shed more light or a beter view on it than I am able to.
I do not ever care to fight with people that do not think God is real .
I do not want to offend any one with how I worship or live my life .
after life or not , this time we have here on earth is far to short to spend it wrapped in drama .
I want to be a good husban to my wife and the best father I can to the two children God has blessed me with.

I always avoid debating in the religious threads here, but have always wondered about the "If you don't believe, you don't get into Heaven" thoughts.

It seems many people believe that when you die, you are destined for one of two places...Heaven or Hell, and your behavior on Earth determines which plane ticket you get.

So if that's true, non-believers are destined to the same place as murderers, rapist etc., etc. ? Or is there some other place they go?

Not funny , but kinda a like 70 year old church of Christ woman started contacting him and telling him about the bible.
He was saved and baptised in prison.
The funny thing is that a church of Christ person was willing to try and help him.
I also go to a church of Christ , but we are like the black sheep of the area.
I have a friend in GA. his aunt goes to a church of Christ and they will flat out tell you That thier church will be the only people in heaven.
That is why people and churches have done more than satan at causing people to walk away from God. (opinion)

There are many answers to that question, and they will vary greatly depending on the denomination of the person you are talking to.

Typically though, nonbelievers go to hell. If you are one of the few that truly have never heard of Jesus then you are excused.

The bible speaks of reaching the age of accountablity , so children are saved by grace while not knowing about it.
IF you live on a island and have never heard or been taught of the word. then I would like to think you have never reached the age of accountablity.
Aslo Think of special needs children?adults with the mind of a child.
If you are given a chance to hear the word or have the teachings and you choose to not accept or follow , then I would not want to be in your shoes, but no man can send you to hell . God knows your heart, It is up to you to accept him.

I have no idea , I have seen a lot of stuff on him tv internet. The dude ate people, ATE PEOPLE ! maybee he was possesed . maybee he needed to be spanked as a kid.
I have heard so many people say if there is a hell he will be in it. Not if he was trully saved.
He was still a sick person with many horrible deeds to his credit . I could not see how any normal person could do the things he did.

But never the less two people have died for you thank them every time you can .

we think as only men can , I do not think God looks at things like we would.
It is hard for me to imagine what jef dahlmer did to all those people , what he put them through , how many lives he destroyed ,each victum had a family .
But if his love can forgive the horrible deeds he committed against God's creations (us) , this is a kind of love it is hard for me as a human to even wrap my head around.

To expand on my previous answer: generally, non-believers and suicides get eternal damnation. There are exceptions to the rule though. Children who have not yet reached the Age of Wisdom (as alabamaman stated) as well as non-believers who are married to Christians will be saved.

There is some contention between certain denominations as to whom the "real" Christians are though...

There is also some middle ground (again, depending on who you talk to) to be had...you might just get a short stay in Hell depending on how you lived your life.

The Universalists viewpoint is that God's love and grace is so great and that Jesus' sacrifice was so complete that everyone gets a ticket to Heaven. Universalism isn't a very popular sect amongst Christianity.

You can also look to the Book of Revelation (last chapter of the NT) where John states that only a few thousand virgin boys will be taken up, even though all of humanity will be brought forth (including the long dead ones) for judgement and punishment. If you are married, have had sex, or a female, you get to stay and watch the world be destroyed.

There in an interesting progression of the idea of an afterlife contained in the Bible. The earliest mention of it says that (and I'm paraphrasing) "men are no better than beasts, and death is simply an end to their existence". It moves on to special rewards for those who worship Yahweh, then to those who worship Yahweh and behave properly, then finally to those who worship Yahweh, are well behaved, and accept Jesus as their Savior.

I could get him out of trouble of some sort if he got into it.

I was raised in a true southren babtist church.
Was taught once saved allways saved.
been in the same church of Christ for 20 years or so.
Never heard once saved allways saved in this church.
have heard I am not God , I do not know. Not place to send anyone to hell , and my fav. Would not wa t to be in his shoes.
the story of the prodical son from the bible is about a son lost in the world.
