So I decided to hell with finishing it up, I wanted to run it now. Threw in the electronics and a sub-c 6 cell pack, took it out for a few minutes, and my faithful Titanite motor died. I knew it was on its way out, but I was hoping to squeeze some more runs out of it. Oh well!
Now I'm playing the waiting game. JRH has shipped out a new motor, balancing adapter and a few other goodies so that I'll actually get it to run for more than a minute or so with the power it really needs Stay tuned.....

Looks killer! WOW,WOW,WOW,WOW, The servo doesnt stick out to badly now that you have it out on the rocks!
maybe you could place the servo next to the speed controll and run some linkage to the axle? Kinda like a wheely king or a
hilux? Either way that thing is sick and your brazing skills are exuberant!!!!

No problem. As I mentioned before, quality work is worth waiting for. Once they're done just pm me with the info I need to pay you for them.
Not sure if that's going to result in a weak spot. I'm going to have to look at a steering set-up like that a bit closer to see how I could work it on here.
Basically, the procedure I use is to apply a bit of flux to the frame, add a bit of safety silv to that location, then take my nut, adding a bit of flux to the side and holding it in place with a pair of needlenose pliers. Heat it up enough and the safety silv flows right where I want it. Really, with the safety silv and matching flux, the brazing only goes where I apply the flux, so as long as the flux is out of the threads, no problem. Also, I definitely use gravity to my advantage too.

Due to requests for custom brazing services, I've decided to finally get around to purchasing my vendor star here (previously I've had to turn down these requests. Honestly, I played by the rules!). Will be putting up a thread in the vendor's forum soon.

Nice work on the panels. I should send you my jeep for you to do something with the panels. I cannot STAND brazing nuts. I went the sheet metal tapped for 2mm buttonheads. I have about 12 sheetmetal braces left to do and Im putting it off like filling up the tank with gas. Don't you like it when your brazing a nut on somewhere there are a couple of other joints and as soon as it gets wet, the stress lets out and moves 1/8"-1/16"? Im thinking its going to be a battle between the fat girl and M22. Let me know when you want those hinges. I'll be passing thru Deadear next Friday. What is that you are using for panel material?

The nice thing about nuts is that they don't require as much heat, so generally slipping joints isn't a huge problem. Having said that, it does occur, and has produced a bit of cussing on my side
! Now that I did all those nuts, I wish I had gone with smaller 2mm nuts as well. Oh well, these are definitely beef enough to hold everything together!Panels are lexan sheeting I got from an industrial plastic supplier in Edmonton. Had to buy a 4' by 8' sheet! But dirt cheap, $45. I think it's about 1/16" thick.
Won't be around next Friday. Are you coming up for the offroad expo on the weekend at all? No problem though, I'm through cowtown often enough, we'll meet up at some point.
