Gobo 6x6 redux...Dakar T4/T5

This looks like a killer build. Keep up the good work sir.

I keep working away although I may be putting Gobo up in the trades section... The 6x6 is such a huge distraction for me right now...I have 2 Rover projects I'm DYING to build. Either an scx10 based 110 pickup again (this time with full camel trophy livery ) or a tf2 based rig with the d90 hardbody modded to a series IIa or III...thankfully ive scaled down my vehicular ADD to R/C...I'm almost 38 and have had over 35 1:1 cars...I'm getting better though; the WRX is almost at the 1 year point!
"thumbsup"

Really want to get the bumper mounted up tonight and start building/gittingvthe rear box, but not sure its going to happen.

If you even wanna get rid of the WRX let me know  I still love Gobo lol.

New bumper is mounted and the rear cage for Sunday is mocked up. I'll weld it up tonight when I get home. Almost a shame it will eventually be covered up!

Gobo is getting all sortsa love today!

The cab is getting painted Orange today, the bed black. Once the box is done out back it will be getting a vinyl wrap...the design is obviously based on the Dakar rigs but the base layer is a copy of this one, used by the local shop on their shop van :) The Green in the graphic shown here will be orange....then all of the standard Dakar logos added along with a few RC Scaler based logos...wonder if RCC would mind if I sported the logo? ;-)

But For the outing tomorrow he'll just be sporting the orange cab, black bed and new cage work.

What's Crazy is while I hammer away at it, I think about my potential Rover builds...I'm such a ho'.

Well, it's been a long day and I'm pretty tired. Gobo is ready for tomorrow's run, although it will be without the rear cage. It's welded up but I'm just not digging the idea of mounting it etc. The front suspension is now running a modified four link setup. Really just radius arms like on a rover. Sidewinder SCT is in and setup, and he's Green :)

Not sure the photos really capture the actual green, but I'm sure there will be a few more pics tomorrow.

I thought the original color was real good, and thought changing it was a bad idea...but that turned out super Toz...I'm liking the green and black
Good luck tomorrow

Thanks Guys!!! I'm loving the green too.

Well in addition to looking cool, Gobo goes well!

Was invited to join the NERCC guys today in Manchester and we had a great time. My 7 year old son Liam came along and got to see those guys dishing out some hard punishment to their rigs!

Only glitches were not being geared quite low enough and a lost knuckle screw (not a huge deal, didn't notice until well over 1/2 way through the day and still drove down the rocks under his own power).

Climbs VERY well...would climb better if I was running a 35 or 45T motor. I think that will be the next step...a 45T on 3S, so I can keep the wheel speed :)

The radius arm suspension worked very well, I'm pumped.

Posing...

yeah the top bolt on the knuckle went MIA...wait till I post the video of it. It one section it bends my mind because you just don't expect the wheel to bend that way.

Glad you made it today Rj! You fit in well with the rest of NERCC "thumbsup" . I think I poofed my new battery in my Losi M8ight. Speed control was on non lipo mode and the 2,000 mah battery took 1957 ma  . Looks a bit fatter then before  . Hope you had fun. That is one of our better spots. But I still think Goof Dam is the best. The run there is in September. You have to make it for that one. Mostly all rocks but endless terrain.

Gobo looked stellar on the trails today!"thumbsup"

Mark, Liam and I had a great time. Was just thinking that maybe some weighted wheels in addition to the beefier motor.

Gotta love the 6x's "thumbsup" Front bumper is excellent. Seeing yours is fuel for my fire...

The bumper has worked out perfectly. It's super beefy and I tack welded it to the chassis...nice and SOLID.

Ben is a good guy. He liked seeing Liam run his rig for a while. They are a good group."thumbsup"
