Joywrex's TF2 "MiAylita" Build (Pic Heavy)

It definitely takes more time than money. It really depends on how well you dimension the mounting points and how happy you are with your bends. This bumper probably took a few hours, but it was the first time I've done it.
I used only hand tools so it took longer. I'd also suggest not doing it inside, over carpet like I do...

I made these lift blocks earlier but have since removed them and tapered them so the pinion angle is better for the rear.

I still need to get a punisher shaft for the rear.

I just smoked my motor! It seemed like it was getting weaker, I was kinda jammed in the rocks but it should have been ok... It was an integy motor.
Does this ever happen? I'm wondering if maybe the transmission got jammed in between gears and the motor pushed too hard.

Also,
Can I buy g-made leaf springs for the tf2? They're cheaper...

Throughout my 25 yrs in the RC hobby, I will say Integy has always been a disappointment to me in every product I have ever tried. Different products work for different people, but Integy has always failed me.

I have used Teken motors in all my scale rigs and never had a problem.

Thanks ethanthegreat138! I'm glad the thread has been helpful.
I am going to put in a Novak rockstar motor...and a BEC.

New Motor! I took of the silly rainbow sticker with a lizard on it from the motor can so you only see metal from underneath.

The much needed BEC was also installed so I don't get any more brownout style issues. The headlights are much brighter now! I put them on the BEC with the servo.

I got this scale nitrous bottle. I found a real compressed co2 sticker and scaled it down and printed it. Now it's for airing down tires!

And speaking of tires. The worn mud tires I got used on the classifieds were not cutting it anymore.

I also painted the wheels black.

I replaced the rear leaf springs because the longest one lost its springiness.

Finally bought the second punisher driveshaft to replace the venom creeper plastic one.

Very inspiring thread to read through.
Great to see the truck transform and I for one LOVE the colour.
I always think lighter colours tend to show the details more, they also show scratches easier but eh, that's part of the scaler scene.

Metal spur gear vs. plastic

I want a metal spur gear... But is it helpful? My stock plastic one is doing fine and I don't think I would change the gearing with a new one. I'm running the stock 64/14 gearing. It's the only plastic part left in they system. Maybe it would feel 'more metal' driving it???

I changed my spur over to the 64t steel axial yeti spur needed to open up the mount holes slightly but it was easily available and cheap i really dont feel much difference maybe just more piece of mind with running in sand and crap
