*** May 14th - BBQ & Comp for ETXRCC ***

Takes alot to skert me. No xr10 will skert me. So brought the xr10 or xr16 or xr whatever, cause your gonna need all the help you can get.:flipoff:

Guess we gonna have ta brake out the ol' Offical Smack Talk page, cause it started again. :lmao:Tag, your it!

Well with a few key strokes looks like the Okies will be there:mrgreen: We are gonna reschedule the okie comp for another date"thumbsup"

Wow, I wasn't expecting so many guys outside of East Texas to have any interest. This is really cool guys. Thanks"thumbsup".

The Ark/La/Miss club rescheduled there local comp to this comp:mrgreen:. With all the rain we have all been getting, the spill way where the comp was going to be wasn't going to work anyways.

Do you Okies want to do the same?

In anticipation of this local comp, I rented a bobcat for this weekend to move the rock"thumbsup". This way I can position the two rock piles, fill in the holes, and get the rocks secured. If anybody would like to come over and help, please let me know. I could really use some help and ideas for the G6 stage as well.

I am updating the first post with hotel information since I have no idea how many people are coming and from where. There are three hotels within a mile from my house. I'm in the south side of Tyler which has restaurant row with over 100 places to eat within a few miles along South Broadway. My home is just a few miles from the mall and plenty of shopping centers (for those possibly driving with wives or girlfriends). There is a Wal Mart Super Center and Target within a mile from my house as well. The Tyler Rose Garden is beautiful this time of year as well.

In regards to bringing something, please bring something to share or please make a donation. I have a simple gas grille just so you know but it will be plenty for hot dogs and hamburgers. ETXRCC is not gonna ask for guys traveling to pay, but you are free to donate to help cover food, bobcat fuel, G6 flags, etc. You are guests of ETXRCC and we are grateful to have you guys travel to comp with us."thumbsup"

For those of you wanting to paypal your donation, please send it as a GIFT with a brief note as to what's for.

My paypal address is:

novasark@sbcglobal.net

Thank you in advance for any donations"thumbsup"

I have 3.5 acres with plenty of parking, so for those of you that have travel trailers, you are welcome to stay the night. Please contact me if this is something you might want to do.

I won't be able to judge since I have to cook and keep everything going. Plus I want others to step up and learn in our local club. This is pretty much going to be everyone's first time on this rock pile, so everyone will be on an even playing field in that regard.

G6 Rules-
1. Run what you brung. No tire or wheel limits, no wheel base limit, but you need to have two scale frame rails or a rock buggy that is scale such as a wreckluse. No Twin Vertical Plate chassis's will be allowed.

2. The event is timed. Lowest time wins. Each flag adds a minute to your time if you touch one with your truck.

3. All obstacles must be completed in order. No "hand of God" help, and no bypassing. You much be winched, pushed or pulled through an obstacle. If you rollover onto to you lid, you must be winched over or pushed over using another scale truck.

4. Sections deemed "run your spare tire", means if you have a spare, you must put it on and run it for a selected area of the stage. If you don't have a spare tire, 1 minute will be added to your time.

5. No off course repairs. If you have to change a battery, fix a drive shaft, or whatever, you have to do it on course with the clock running. If you leave the stage at any time, you are disqualified. You are allowed to have your trail buddy run and get you a part or needed tool, but you and your truck must stay on course with the time running.

I think that covers the G6 format for Saturday, but feel free to offer your input.

Im good for Pro 2.2 and 1.9 if there are enough drivers.

g6 possibly if I have the time.

Tyler has two local hobby stores:

Wings & Wheels Hobbies
6611 S Broadway Ave # 400
Tyler, TX 75703-4604
(903) 939-1353 ‎ www.wingsandwheelshobbies.com

Hobbytown USA
4566 South Broadway Ave
Tyler, TX 75703-1305
(903) 509-3000 ‎
www.hobbytown.com

Wings and Wheels is literally a mile from my house and it's a good store with a good owner. They carry car stuff, but planes and helicopters is the stores true passion. But they have a ton of Traxxas parts and other hobby supplies just in case you need something. The pricing is always great here as well. Very comparable to mail order prices.

Hobbytown sucks. Everything is over priced and the service is terrible. I do my absolute best to never go there. Like any Hobbytown, they have a little of everything but little of what you actually need in most cases. But it is an option, especially if you break a part. This store is right across the street from the mall in the French Quarter and roughly 3 - 4 miles from my house.

You guys will have time. I am certain we will have enough people to get everything run. We have two separate rock areas on the property. We could set up a couple of 1.9 courses on the rock area closet to the shop in order to keep things moving.

The G6 should be a lot of fun. Everybody is gonna want to run it:twisted:. I'm gonna let Gavin make a soupy mud section so just a heads up to the fact that your scaler will get plenty dirty.

The way things are already shaping up, here is what you can probably expect.

4 - 2.2 courses set up on the large rock areas behind the shop. 2 courses on each section of rock. Recommended tires are Sedonas, Rovers or Pins. If y'all want to do a finals course for fun, or wager, it's up to y'all.

2 - 1.9 courses set up on the smaller piles next to the shop. This rock has a mix of everything in it. So no one tire is superior.

1 - G6 stage that should be 30 - 45 minutes in length to run. You will want a trail tire that cleans out well for sure. You can expect to see 75% trail, 15% rock, 10% water and mud unless we keep getting more storms which will mean more water and mud.

All courses and the G6 stage will be open all day. It looks like we should have enough people to help keep everything running simultaneously. The G6 will be on the buddy system (one driver and one time keeper) and honor system. You will be given a timer and a piece of paper to keep track of 1 minute penalties. That's it for the G6. It would be best to run with a trail buddy though. Preferably both trucks running together will either need a winch or tow strap with mounting points.

Super would be the last class run, assuming we have enough drivers.

No matter what, sometime between 12 - 1PM everything will be stopped so we can all eat together.
