New Losi "Comp Claw" review - Axial Midwest Indoor.

you say it's a night and day difference over your old tires.

maybe I missed it earlier in the thread but, what tire did you run before this or are you comparing them too?

thanks!

Sorry, I didn't see this.

I say night and day from my other Claws. I am not one for placebo effects, but I really could climb and break over better than before. the staggered and siped lugs do a much better job on the rocks.

yeah we want 40 series wheels :D

if losi makes a 7.5" tall tire with the same pattern as the rock claws it will be a big hit definitly beacuse there is only one good tyre on the market atm :/

pls losi, dont forget the supers :(

and here i thought my 3rd tire set was gonna be panthers.... lol

you damn losi guys and your cutting edge technology.

gonna make bob go broke!
only people who CANT drive turn to panther tires to make them look good! thats why i drive losi tires only! they are great! they have that just right amount of grip!"thumbsup"

Is the "gription" the same thing as on the Carvers? I like to call it Gekko skin. :D

The new Claws look awesome, and performance seems to have come up quite a bit over the originals. "thumbsup" Losi.

I don't know if anyone else had this experience but mine mounted up really nice the bead seems beefier and doesn't deform at all when the bead rings are tighten down. I was very impressed as I mounted the set I even try to screw up the mounting it was almost imposible to get the bead to deform.
Nice work Rich and Losi. "thumbsup"

I saw these tires in action yesterday at a practice comp, They were hooking up pretty good. Even on sandy like surfaces. If only the driver knew how to drive his truck. LOL I may try them if they are ever available.

Good, I wasn't losing it then, I felt the same thing when I mounted mine up as well.

As for the gription I am betting it is the exact same thing. Mine were pre-pros that didn't have them so I can't say. I would love to get a set of productions now though as they are a complete tire. MIne are Gription-less and have no markings. I have stealthe Comp Claws. "thumbsup"

i just judged a 2 day contest on the central coast this weekend and i can seriously say that i sat and watched these tires spin:roll: and spin:roll: and spin:roll: where other tires were just walking up the super grippy and jagged rocks not to bash losi but i was not impressed at all and i know for a fact the guys that were running them were pissed not sure what there foam setup was but i hope that was the only problem there was a couple people running the j concept tire having the same problem the tires that seemed to have no problem were the panthers and the chisels some of the rovers seemed to soft kuz they had some problems also i hope this helps it is just what i saw after 2 days of judging thought i would share......P III

Well i was out testing my comp claws for the first time yesterday for about five hours. We were on smooth but grippy rock. Almost every tire that we use in this spot works good, We had the panthers, jconcepts and losi comp claws running. For the first half of the day i was un impressed, but thing is they need quite abit of break in time, just like most tires i have used. I have always used the losi regualr claws and only those so i am comparing the comp claws to the old claws. After a few hours on the rocks it was time for some side hilling, they exceded my expectations, they out performed the regular claws by far. like i said after a few hours of break in time the traction increased, making lines that i could not earlier. I got home and scrubbed them clean with some dish soap and a stiff scrub brush and now they feel right, So anyways i am happy with my comp claws. I just think it takes alittle while to break them in..

He he, just do a few dig burns on the driveway and they will break in. "thumbsup"

Anybody used them in mud? Im thinking about getting some for a 2.2 scaler I have coming up..

I just got mine in and have not used them yet but this is the exact thought that I got from them as I pulled them out of the box. They just felt like they needed some break in time. They feel stickier than the claws ever did to me but they also feel stiffer and a little less conforming? i guess you could call it. I have high hopes for these tires but I guess we shall see.

Well i though the comp claws SUCKED with the stock foams... way too soft..
they did the same my JC tires did... the lugs folded up inside the carcus, keeping them from grabbing..
a stiffer foam is in order for these tires, just like the JC tires and the panthers..
i found that they worked AWSOME with a stiffer foam...JMO
