Panther Cougars

I drove in the rain last night for the first time, and I was amazed at how well the Panthers held their line while wet. In some areas of my course, they seemed to take the line better than they would have if they were dry.

I LOVE THE PANTHERS

these tires are AMAZING on my AX10. I put them on a "basically" stock Scorp and crawled the heck outta some stuff that the original tires could never bite on. Once i got the Scorp setup better, these tires REALLY showed their stuff.

Worth EVERY penny they ask for a set!

Great tires. "thumbsup" I dont plan on running anything else anytime soon unless it comes from Panther. 8)

What a SNOB :flipoff: What is even better is they are $10.38 for a pair and that includes memory foams from TCS "thumbsup"

I just picked up another pair for my tire arsenal since my old onces got cut to 1.9s

I have a set of cougars with NWTT #5 hybrid reaches up front and #5 regular reaches in the back (TCS only had one set of hybrids at the time) and the tires are mush.

They do climb like a mountain goat this way but get wadded up bad in deep sharp rocky type stuff. They also fold under when side hilling to the point that they slide off things. They will fold till the wheel about hits the rocks.

My rig weighs 7 LBS. I do not mind tinkering with things somewhat but I am not a foam factory nor do I want to be.

I don't expect a foam that is perfect in every situation but would like something that is decent in most. Soft is good but the tire does need to be filled up and they need to hold the truck up.

I have read that some of you fit two foams in one tire and I still can not picture how you get them in there let alone seat the bead????

Does the proline oversize 2 stage fit in a cougar? would they fill up the tire with out turning it into a balloon?

I had a local indoor comp last night and I thought these tires would help me do better but it turned out to be a embarrassment. I looked so stupid and yes I am a newer driver but I pointed out by gate 3 on course 1 and I pointed out between gates 1 and 2 out of 6 on course 2. The truck was all over the place. I could not hold a line. My son kicked my ass with hammers.

I have the vanquish foams and I am not going to use them. I did not get the panther foams with the tires and I can not keep spending money on foams.

The last pic shows how the tire does not look filled and it looks kind of deformed to me at least.

I really like the panthers and want to make them work. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Those foams have had it:lol:

First why are you not going to use the VP foams they look very promising.

If you want a good cheap foam get the Panther 400 and cut a small chanel around the center.Or the Panther 310 It is shorter but works pretty good.

The nwtt foams are brand spanking new!

It would take me to long to explain in detail about the vanquish foams plus I don't want to bash VP stuff because...well look at my rig, but basically I have found them very hard to work with. The foams and triangles kind of fight each other. I will put a couple of pics to show mine and my sons attempts at mounting them. DISCLAIMER: I might not have the skills to set them up properly and am in no way saying they are bad.

Are the 310's the foams for Tmaxx's?? I am not sure about using non memory foams because I have seen those kinds be a little bouncy.

What do you guys think about using the proline 2 stage?

These pics are with the VP foams

The 400 is for the cougar. The 310 is for a 1/10 scale stadium truck.

If you will read into this thread a bit more you will see that mem. foam is not all it is made up to be.When the Cougar first come out we all run them not knowing any better. We learned the hard way and have spent countless hours trying different setups and share what we have learned so that others do not have to fight with it.Trust us when we recomend something.Several of us travel to comps all over the country and you have to have a good setup if you are going to go 1500 miles away from home to compete."thumbsup"
I know that 3 of the top six drivers at nats no longer run Mem. foam

Agreed, the 400's and 310's are the best foam to run with Cougars and mems are waaaaaaay overrated like many things that get over hyped...
