Panther Cougars

I will give them a try. I just need to find and get them before next Tuesdays comp. I never want to look as bad as I did last week ever again!

I remember when I took out the memory foams and put stock Axial foams in the beta tester tires. It was like, holy shit!! At that time I was running a really lightweight Axial. Panthers need stiffness.

but I am not a foam factory nor do I want to be.

:ror:

I have so many and found a use for some. Beer cozy. Two stacked works great!

my cougars came with there mem foams, how do they rate againest there 310's and 400's....i like the way mine crawl without air holes in the wheels or tires, wet or dry "thumbsup" ..............bob

....

who sells the 400's and 310's foam, also are they panther brand foams or some body elses....i couldn't find them anywhere...............bob

TCS has the f-400s but not the f-310s so I got them straight from panther at the suggestion of joesbruiser.

They are Panther brand. And either TCS or Panther is a good place to buy the F400's. Panther is the only place to get the F310's that I know of.

Redbaron is CORRECT !!!

You can also get all of the PANTHER foams either from PANTHER directly or GP/Tower Hobbies."thumbsup"

I got the f-400 foams today and cut them down the middle like joesbruiser said and WOW what a difference"thumbsup" the tires do not collapse like before woohoo!!! They fill the tires right, do not collapse but feel well um....RIGHT!

I also got my kid a set of cougars w/400s and he likes them so far. We both agree in our humble opinions that this is the right tire size for a 2.2 crawler. I know that the trend is to go for the biggest and baddest new tire out there but once the smoke is gone I think people will come back to reality and go with a well balanced good all around tire instead of changing tires every time the wind blows.

But that is just my humble don't know shit kinda new ass opinion so take it or leave it and have a nice day!

I tried the Panthers last summer and they where okay. I tried the stock memory foams, Kreepies foams, NWTT hybrids and some others. I then tried the grey foam recommended by people and went out testing today. The tires straight up rocked. They had incredible forward bite and pretty darn good sidehilling. I was very impressed with them. I can't wait to try the white foams. I have 2 sets of rims so I will be mounting up whites in one set and the greys in the other set to compare them.

Quick question, does the traction improve as the tires wear like the Losi's? The reason I ask is that I have a used set and a new set. Wondering if I should save the new set for comps or if I should "scrub" them in.

I say don't even mess with the 310's.. they won't last but a couple of runs.. After that, they're trashed. They F400's on the other hand are by far the best foam I've ever put in a set of Panthers.. Trust me.. I've had a lot haha, I have 8 sets of Panthers sitting in my 'tire bin' as it is right now  At first look, you think there's no way that bigass foam is going in that tire and not make it stiff as a brick. But somewhere between stuffin that bastid in there, and mounting it up.. there is some magic, I swear it haha 8):)

Went from Panthers to white dot Rovers and now back to Panthers. Panthers are by far superior IMO. I wasn't happy with the grip of the Rovers. Just wouldn't grab things that i could with the Panthers. Forward bite is much better on the Panthers and after siping the tires, they sidehill just as well as the Rovers. "thumbsup"

My kid tried the 400s in back and 310s up front and is now going to run 400s all around. I have to agree with HomerJ, they started out very firm but after a few hours of run time they are mush. They are way softer than the 400s now.

They are also very short, making the tire height about the same size as a hammer. They climb ok that way but don't seem to do well in the deeper stuff and they make your rig look like a dragster, big tires in back little ones in front.

I know that some Panther drivers run them this way and I respect their opinion but I personally/my son did not see any benefit to using the 310s in the Cougars anywhere we have used them so far.

The cut 400s are working very well so far for us. At our local indoor Tuesday night comps where probably 3/4 of the peeps are running rovers (except for my driving skils:roll:) my rig with Cougars/400s goes anywhere the rovers go just fine. I just have not yet seen anything that makes me feel that I am at a disadvantage by not running rovers, chisels, etc...

So does the F400 come with the non-memory foam tires? Or is the only way to get the F400 foam to buy it separately?

Panther Cougar 2.2 Crawler Tire w/soft foams (2) #T485S do these have the F400 foam in them?

So do you trim the center of the foam for both front and rears?
