Panther Cougars

So do you trim the center of the foam for both front and rears?

I got bad results after trimming the rears. They would bunch up when climbing up a vertical 90 degree obstacle. I've had great results with just taking a little out of the middle of the fronts.

Apparently the newer F400 foams are narrower. A just put a set in my tires with no cutting or trimming at all and they are perfect.

Here is a video testing them.

Video

It's just a little pile of rocks in the back yard, but it gives you an idea. The tire height is increased with the narrowness too (versus my other foam set up) Just a hare over 5".

How wide are the new ones and old ones? I just got a set directly from Panther on Monday. Not sure if I got the new ones or old ones. Compared to the greys, they are a smaller ID, larger OD and wider.

I knew by running the f400s up front and heavy throttle digging would make them wear faster, but holy crap I had no idea. 2 comps (2nd and 5th place finishes) with some practice in between and

I can see foam through some areas (like the ones circled)

am I happy with my tire/foam set-up? YES.

Is TCS selling pairs of cougars w/mems for $10? YES.

Dam HEL,

I have that much time or more on my first set plus 2 1/2 hours in Monterey and if you clean them off it is hard to tell them from new, same for my kid and he loves to play with the dig and spin in circles (I prefer to just crawlincircles:lol:)

How many courses are in the comps out there 36 with 48 gates each??

I'm running NWTT hybrid squats up front and the hybrid reach in the rear. For me this set up seems to work great. I'll have to give the F400's a try though."thumbsup"

AWESOME TIRE!!! (like yall already didnt know:shock:)

just put some on the front of my rig, along with 3.2 oz of weight. and took it out for a test run.... i think i could remove the rear shaft and GO just as good!!

still got to put on rears as well as add some weights.

AWESOME TIRE!!! and TCS has'em cheap!

I got some for me but i'm guessing i dont have enough weight in them yet to make them really hook up.

So what is the current total weight of the front and rear tires with the panthers on axial based rigs that some of you guys are running?

12 front? 8 rear?

When I was running a shafty I was at 15 each in the front and 8 rear.

Just ordered a set of foams from panther waiting to get them. I can't wait to get this foam tunning down pack, it's about the most important thing to have on your rig to even stand a chance. The good thing is evry time I change foams I write down how each one react's. At the last comp I went to I ran just the right foam setting and ended up in second, that opened my eye's big time to how important it is to have the right foam at the right location since everyone knows not every foam works at every place.

Thanks.
