You see who I drive for, you know my opinion. The last thing you want is your tire binding in a body, unable to let the suspension work, and you go rolling down.
Well yeah with my design its not really a problem...I designed the shock tabs to provide the same mounting points for the shocks as the cab...but how many cabs out there have the shocks mounted to them that cant just be removed.
Hooraw BMT
Is this new rule also including tube chassis or is it just the plate cabs?
I sold off my MOA stuff and was going to compete with my Bastard Jr. this season in sportsman. This rule kinda sucks in my opinion.
I haven't gone through and looked at all of them, but you can't do that to a Fastback. The shocks mount to the cab.
So you can just take a pair of side cutters or a dremel and cut off the cab I guess....so much for the hours of design and milling Juan put into his product.

Not new thoughts ;-) Didn't your mob make a name for yourselves by dumping some crates of tea overboard and blowing some ships up the last time you got jack of an out of touch ruling body? :lmao: "thumbsup"
Do you need to remove the cab? Can you just not put a body over it and leave the chassis be?
Seeing as how committee members have come and gone without offering any clarification on this point, I would assume that tubers would be included in the rule.
It does suck, and I think they've now realized how big of a chunk they've taken out of the sportsman class.
Well, Fishy was just reading the thread. Maybe he's talking with the rules committee now and they are discussing it.
Someone earlier mentioned keeping it more appealing to new comers in the hobby. I take that as more on the lines of looks and keeping the trucks closer to looking like a real truck or crawler. I tend to agree with that point. Seems kinda ass backards to eliminate a TUBE chassis from a hobby that TUBE chassis's are a majority of the 1:1's we are scaling things from.
if it needs to look "scale" it needs to be run in the scaler class. take the wraith for example, i think most of us would agree that it would be classified as a scaler, although it is a scaled down verson of a comp rig.
i understand that they want it to still RESEMBLE a truck with a hood, roof, and cab, but that's also the rule with bodiless chassis albeit that they are much smaller than what they would be for a full bodied rig.

If they want to look like poo while they drive, more power to em![]()
Since 2.2 is the most popular class, it would make sense that it has more exposure. Why not ban bodiless there as well? Not everyone who is new goes straight to Sportsman. When someone puts together that brand new XR-10, aren't they going to be turned off to see all the bodiless rigs in 2.2?
(note: I'm making a point here...I do NOT want to see bodiless banned in 2.2 or anywhere else for that matter).
