You see who I drive for, you know my opinion. The last thing you want is your tire binding in a body, unable to let the suspension work, and you go rolling down.

Is this new rule also including tube chassis's or is it just the plate cabs?

I sold off my MOA stuff and was going to compete with my Bastard Jr. this season in sportsman. This rule kinda sucks in my opinion.

Well yeah with my design its not really a problem...I designed the shock tabs to provide the same mounting points for the shocks as the cab...but how many cabs out there have the shocks mounted to them that cant just be removed.

I haven't gone through and looked at all of them, but you can't do that to a Fastback. The shocks mount to the cab.

Hooraw BMT

Not new thoughts ;-) Didn't your mob make a name for yourselves by dumping some crates of tea overboard and blowing some ships up the last time you got jack of an out of touch ruling body? :lmao: "thumbsup"

Nah, just kidding... Would I incite revolution? Or would I be just underlining the point that actions have consequences?

Seeing as how committee members have come and gone without offering any clarification on this point, I would assume that tubers would be included in the rule.

It does suck, and I think they've now realized how big of a chunk they've taken out of the sportsman class.

this is an out rage. for the first time ever i get a chassis that actually works and then they go and ban it from the crawling serius that i run. these guys should think about this. the majority of the people running in the sportsman class r running bodiless rigs

THIS IS NOT COOL!!! :evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil::evil:

Oh I know its not a new idea bro...just saying Hooraw to you for saying it.

I think some of the tea throwing fire setting individuals then are related to some of the people on here...my folk are from Ireland and Scotland....had our fare share of that ruling body too....

Well, Fishy was just reading the thread. Maybe he's talking with the rules committee now and they are discussing it.

Someone earlier mentioned keeping it more appealing to new comers in the hobby. I take that as more on the lines of looks and keeping the trucks closer to looking like a real truck or crawler. I tend to agree with that point. Seems kinda ass backards to eliminate a TUBE chassis from a hobby that TUBE chassis's are a majority of the 1:1's we are scaling things from.

Maybe. Hopefully.

I can understand the appeal thing, I really can, but how many bodied comp rigs really look like their 1:1 counterparts? The only one I can think of that comes the closest is the Proline Rockstar. Everything else is kinda iffy IMO.

Yes there are lots of tubers in the real world. Aside from building an actual scale tuber, but a bodiless chassis comes pretty close to that. Much closer than a slammed and chopped Bug does...

if it needs to look "scale" it needs to be run in the scaler class. take the wraith for example, i think most of us would agree that it would be classified as a scaler, although it is a scaled down verson of a comp rig.

i understand that they want it to still RESEMBLE a truck with a hood, roof, and cab, but that's also the rule with bodiless chassis albeit that they are much smaller than what they would be for a full bodied rig.

I am not much a fan of bodiless simply cause I think they're fugly. BUT, I agree with this being voted against. I as a vendor, would hate if some rules in a class kept my products from being used for no good reason. For all my fellow vendors, KEEP EM IN PLEASE. There is no reason folks cant run the hideous things. If they want to look like poo while they drive, more power to em:flipoff:

Well there a couple of builders in 1:1 that are using sprint car chassis' to build crawlers...they are 80 inches and up...and I think Land Rovers and Willy's have 80 inch chassis' too...both 1:1 rock crawler platforms.

Since 2.2 is the most popular class, it would make sense that it has more exposure. Why not ban bodiless there as well? Not everyone who is new goes straight to Sportsman. When someone puts together that brand new XR-10, aren't they going to be turned off to see all the bodiless rigs in 2.2?

(note: I'm making a point here...I do NOT want to see bodiless banned in 2.2 or anywhere else for that matter).

I agree...goose and gander.

My thought too...if bodies are so much better then how come so many people run bodiless....? "The things that make you go....Hmmmmmm?!"
