Yfkm!!

Crawling is the most open form of RC I have been exposed too, the willingness of all to assist each otehr, no matter what, far exceeds that found in any other format.

I don't think mandating a body is going to
1. increase competitiveness
2. encourage those not into crawling to join
3. encourage additional media or general public attendance.

You're either into crawling or your not, I'm into it, I prefer bodied sportsman rigs, but also love watching the bodiless rigs drive, you can see exactly how they work and improve your build and driving skills by seeing the rig in action.

Most of human anatomy was realised by peeling away the skin and seeing how the muscles worked. Same applies here.

Mandating a body in any class where you are not competing for sheep stations or a trophy bitch is misconceived, il-advised and will be detrimental to the sports growth and future.

Sometimes i think that the rule - Makers are just trying to mes with us! What a rediculous rule! It's Not as though having no body gives the driver an advantage! Thats mad bro...

I probably should have said it earlier, but the fact that you're open minded and willing to post this publicly has shown me alot about your character. "thumbsup"

Thank you.

I am very passionate about this sport/hobby and I know a lot that have posted in this thread weather positive or negative are as equally passionate. I do believe the job of rules committee is to find a happy medium between best for the sport and keeping the active members happy.

I know you have been active on this topic and voiced your opinion as well as backed up your theory. now I can see both sides of the equation with a little different perspective so a thanks to you is in order as well.

Not sure why this was never brought up to more than just the rules comity. It does have an effect on some vendors here. Does that also mean tube chassis as well?

I wished someone would grow a set and tell us the reasoning behind this? Or have I missed it somewhere? Sportsman crawling is nowhere near scale so why would a body matter or not? Ive started building a sportsman, probably going to run a body, but seriouly this is taking the fire away. I don't plan on going to nationals, but the other guys from AR and the rest in my club might and this will alter how everyone has to do it.

This...

Bodied cars attract way more people to the hobby than bodiless.

Do you southern Missouri guys even know what a crawler body looks like? I don't think I've ever seen anyone there run one. :ror:

I am president of Wnyrcrc in Buffalo NY. We run our indoor series at a local hobby shop. I started a Sportsman class 11/2 years ago. The hobby shop had asked me to start the class. There was several new people who wanted to crawl but wanted a beginners class. It was sportsman rules but limited to new crawlers only. Attendence was very poor. Less than 3 people. I opened it up to everyone in our club. Kept Sportsman rules . The class jumped to 10-13 entries. The same or more than pro class.
I do like the look of a bodied rig. I also like the bodiless. I run Pro Sportsman and mini in every comp. All three of my rigs are bodiless.
I as a club president would not want to discourage any of my members or potential new crawlers in my area with a bodiless rule.
I just want people to show up and have fun.
Our Sportsman class is about 50% bodiless.
Our pro class is 100% bodiless as of now.

The first major upgrade for most beginners other than durability parts is a chassis.

Please reconsider the body rule. I just feel we need to support all of the vendors. And all their products.

Thank you

How many vendors are actually on the rules committee?????

So maybe we need a spec class? maybe wraiths? I dunno, no wait, aint they bodiless?

There are a few. I'm sure they're good guys and no offense is meant, but it seems like a conflict of interest to me.

Wraiths are bodiless.

FYI: Axial has an IFS rig in the works. ;-)

Well they do it for free, rules that is. Conflict of interest, maybe.
Yea the wraiths are getting popular and I would like to see them more at crawls in stock form. After all once we get them to the crawls they are normally on the forum with in a few days looking for comp rigs.
So is axials new rig for crawling or FOFF?

well I read something about beating a dead horse so I think I am gonna wish best of luck to all with the rules people. Oh yea, Rules are meant to be broken:lmao:

Agreed. "thumbsup"

Like I said earlier, I've seen many of the committee members poking around in here, but only a small few have taken the time to discuss this with us.

Thanks Ricky, Jeremy, and Eddie for being candid. "thumbsup"

This...

Well Matt runs a body on his LCC and I ran a body on my bully. I got so sucked up in Scale that I sold my Bully. I do have a set of Bully's settin around I thought about building but plain and simple I don't want to build an MOA. I was going to build a Sportsman with a dig and run both classes but this stupid rule has me pissed again. Well maybe there happy being this way.

Oh one more thing DUUUUUDE :flipoff:

Of course I am going to vote bodiless...
With this rule I lose out on alot of skins for the sportsman.
I say some of the bodies are much uglier than the bodiless panels.
However some of the skins that have been made...
especially full side panel skins brings a whole new look to bodiless.
The side panels that cover entire side giving the appearance of windows.
Changes the look of the bodiless.
Take a look at some of the full sided vipers and beetle juice4.2.
If these full sided panels were used on them it would definetly make them look more like a body,

My .02

I for one run bodieless Creeper and if this rule continues ill be out of crawling! I will not be happy and prob discourage comp crawling. I have a xr10 that has stock gears one motor no electronics I cant afford to build the xr10 .so I crawl the sportsman bodiless rig and now the whole team that drives for rmdesignworks will be forced to stop crawling! What a load of sh+t seriously guys. And this whole thing about it will attract more attention, thats bull too. When I first started I ran body but I saw bodieless rigs floating around I wanted one. I thought this was to be fun....its not anymore ,so much drama and now this. what a shame. Shame shame shame.
