Got a chance to work on the buggy today but didn't get a whole lot done, got alot undone. Some how it's not turning out anything like I drew up. Still got to figure out what I'm going to do with the front end.

Make sure to make only one thread. Buggy looks good. Dont worry about the drawing mine wound up not looking anything like i planned. It will design itself as you go.

Contacted "jason" don't know if he's a mod or not ? How do you tell who the mods are ?

Anyway got a little more done today.

No biggie just a future reference kind of deal. Whoa i like it. Its different but looks great. It will get easier the further you go. Again looks like its starting to take shape. Good work.

Got to melt some solder today. I figured after making the curves in the front end it needed to have an over all curved or rounded feel to it. Had to extend the rear section a little to get the curve and line up the shocks where I wanted them. Lastly a shot of my driver and were he'll be in the cage. Still got to figure out what I'm going to do for the side of the cage.

Bulldog, looneybin and any other builders how do you handle multiple joints in the same area ? Get them all lined up and do them at the same time or do one at a time ?

Definitely try to do them all in one shot. It's hard, but while the heat is there, hit them together. It takes a little planning, but take your time. If you know you're going to be adding a tube in the area, just wait and braze it later. Of course, you can't build the whole thing in one shot, but you'll save yourself some headaches if you keep heating the same area over and over. As for finding the mods. Look at the 2.2 forum page. On the right side on the edge it should say who the moderators are for the section. "thumbsup" Edit, hit the Scale Rigs General Tech section. You'll see the mods list on the right.

Pretty cool bud. Looks good. As for multiple joints it depends on the joint. Ideally you would want to do them all at the same time but it rarely works out that way. Just build as you go man. I usually just wing it and that sometimes leads to reheating a joint to add a tube. Just keep at it bud.

Got to work on the buggy a little today. Got a floor made for the interior so I can get a better idea of where things are going to go. Didn't get much done but did change the way the top lower rail goes, had to adjust them a little to get the battery to sit in there, and added the curved fire wall bar.

Kept trying to braze these two tubes for the center of the roll cage, not the 2 little ones in the pic. The 2 bars run along the side bars and then come in at a 45 to form a point. Had a heck of a time getting them to line up and stay where I wanted them. I tried to heat them up after brazing to adjust them and they would keep coming apart so I finally called it a night, try it again this weekend. Also waiting on some VP and shock parts to show up hope they get here before the weekend.

Another tip....green masking tape. If the tubes are long enough you can tape the joints together and braze one end. The tape will hold the tube in place and as long as the tube doesn't get too hot it works great. I have even done shorter tubes but you have to be fast. Remember you only have to get one end "tacked" and then you can just burn off the tape and braze the other joint and come back to the first. Tubes falling out is one of the most aggravating parts of building to me. Also makes you be careful of what you are brazing over. A red hot tube will melt right through your wife's decorative porch door mat when it unexpected falls off. :x

you can also melt some brazing rod on the mark you have then position the piece over it and melt the brazing while holding the tube in place.just take your time don't rush it or try too many welds at one i useally just do one or two at a time and watching for warping.

Shock mounts done. Need the kit to finish up. Shocks are loose to prevent binding issue I was having.

Pic looks wierd. I think cause the tubes are curved. The bars over the tranny were the ones that were give me a hard time the other day. Undid the curved bend and brazed them together then redid the curve. Got the servo mount in.

Showing off the VP goodies. Still got to mount the panhard. Think it's going to go to the bottom of the servo plate.

Got some more work done on the buggy today. Still got a bunch of little tubes to add and figure out the "engine" cage. Also starting to think of what color to paint it.

Not sure if I'm done with the top of the cage or not.

Well put "F-Bomb" together today seeing as it was a nice day out. I got esc and reciever temporarily zip tied in, battery barely fit were it's supposed to go due to making changes to the chassis after starting the build. Powered it up and noticed that when I tuned the wheels all the way to the right there was a slight rise in the suspension and a slight pull down when turned left, normal or not ? Never ran a chassis mounted servo and panhard so I don't know.

Decided to take it out anyways. Started to bomb around the yard and it would roll over like a 50 cent hoe, it wasn't so bad in the gravel just slides around. Ran it around for a bit and then the steering started to get sloppy, lost a screw in one of the steering arms and of course I don't have a spare, try to get some tomorrow at hardware store.

Anyway I'm thinking about leaving it as it sits now maybe add a plate to mount the esc and reciever on but don't think I'm going to put much more in to it. It's ok but not really a southern buggy reminds me to much of a VW bettle. Bad thing is just bought some more tube today. Guess I'm building another one.
