what does a soft spring do for you compared to a stiff one. i know this is prolly a stupid question but the only thing i can come up with is that a stiff spring will drop the tire faster and a soft one wont drop it as fast, if this is it what is the advantage of softer or harder spring on differant terrain. thanks

You also have to factor in shock oil. You can have a medium spring with a higher wieght oil and it will drop just as slow as a soft spring with a lower oil wieght. Its all up to you really.

I like a softer spring so the suspension can flex and keep as many tires on the ground as possible. The stiffer the springs the more I end up on my lid.

the oil controls how fast it will move, and the springs control how much force is needed to either compress or extend the shocks, depending on how you run them

it's all personal preference really some like them firmer others softer
terrain is a big factor on whats best as well
