Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. I just wanted to make sure my thinking was not out to lunch.

"A little slow wheel speed and I get my tough climbs on my rock pile"
I hear that! I don't find myself doing a lot of burns with my gold's...if I let the tire do the work, it gets it done.

How come you went from a 5.25 straight to a single stage? I guess what I am really wondering is, why didnt you naturally want to step up to a 5.5 inner and then from there if it was too soft, step up to a 5.5/medium outer?
Shane mentioned to me that the Voodoo tire was wadding up like a drag slick. I immediately thought about Panther Cougars and the issues we had using them years back. The tires would hook but had no sidewall support and would load up easy. People found that a stiff oversized foam (Panther f400) worked great and that became the go-to foam for the Panther Cougar.
I had to talk him into using trying these foams.. at first I think he was a lil' skeered.
You confident enough them yet to run them at ECC yet? Or are you gonna stick with your previous stuff? Being a taller tire how does it effect side hill situations? Curious to see further testing results as I know you will test the funk out of them:ror:. I hope they meet up with expectations because they are good looking tires"thumbsup"
Edit: went back a page and saw your words on the side hilling issue!
they got the right man testing these out for sure , thanks for the info so far ...keep it coming "thumbsup"
Do you have any older open cell inner/outer foams? Tried them yet?
That is all I use.. Here is my review with the old style inners.

I will put up my results from testing yesterday sometime tonight"thumbsup"
Cool, thats what I'm going to try when mine arrive.
I also really appreciate all the advise on this. Great information. I appreciate how you have focused on weight impact of the trucks themselves.
Looks like you may get a chance to see how they do on wet rock soon.

I got my first set of prototype closed cell inners from Eddie back in the 2010 or 2011 and never used any other style of foam since. Before then I ran inner wheel supports, so I was used to the setup.
I gave all my open cell inner foam setups to a new local guy last year. He got lucky!
