Tamiya Hummer Quick Mods and Build

The wheel base is long! They reversed the rear "A" arms to push the rear wheels back. It's substantially longer than the S-10 which has the same chassis. Most off the shelf bodies will not fit on the H1 configuration of this chassis.

When I put Tamiya Rock Crusher tires on the H1, I did a small 3mm body lift to clear the tires better. I also lengthened the shocks to allow better chassis clearance.

I did the body in Home Depot olive drab nato flat green paint I then used a fine point black sharpie to accent the door & hood seams.

I also used a short piece of fuel auto fuel line tubing to raise the air cleaner off the hood.

Quick update: Been waiting for some spare gears and I just got a confirmation mail that they are on their way. I intend to shift the front gear to the back, lock the diff and install the new spur gear. Hopefully that will hold up - planning to take some pictures and maybe make a movie when I get it "fully operational" "thumbsup"

Will update shortly.

@ RCCrawler4000: Looking forward to see how that will work out for you. Sounds groovy ;-)

... Added a new video - a beach run with my hummer. Think I need a new motor btw - I'll try and throw a 23t in it to see what happens (what I have lying around). Think I will have to get me a 35t engine though - I don't think a slow 55t fits the rally-type hummer

Enjoy:

Hey Mocca.
Nice video.
Maybe if you used the same video and put a lot in slow motion, it would be even better.
Here is my ride so far:

Just need to install some more lights before I shoot a video with it.

I have some pictures of my ride, but I am not able to put them in here. They wont show. It is .JPG and are 900 kb per picture.

You need to be a 'star' member to put in pictures directly - I just upload mine to photobucket and then insert the URL when asked to, as you press "insert picture" in the top ;-)

I'd love to see it! I'll might start working on a slow motion version of the best parts of the video...

Wow - now that is a sweet ride! How did you get that circular paint-look? Love your accessories... real inspiring! Love it "thumbsup"
