Tamiya Hummer with aluminum chassis

Steering linkage posed a problem and I've seen it done different ways. My first idea was to cut a slot in chassis and drop servo arm down through it. Other idea was to make new links and see if i could run a link up over the chassis to the servo. I thought I'd give this layout a try. I dropped a rod down through chassis, flat spotted it top and bottom and added set screws to linkage. I'll need to test this out and see how it holds up.

I've found some photos on my other computer that never made it to photobucket. I've added some to the upper posts.

I love the lift! How are the braces holding up? I was thinking of doing the same to my Ta but was worried about the strength of the bendy aluminium.

The aluminum I used is very stiff. If it bends, my bet is that my body will be breaking too!

I'm really glad someone is doing some good things with the TA gear boxes. I've been trying to do something with my TA gear boxes with blazing star arms for a couple years now lol Seeing you build your hummer might gets me thinking about a future project again "thumbsup" great job !!

I thought I'd chime and say I should get some more work done soon. Been upgrading my two Dingos. I need to test the steering out. I was also give a tip on maybe flipping the servo over to help with the geometry.
