TRX4 Sport kit

Well, I caved and used today’s 15% coupon to order the Sport kit. Not sure what my electronics selection will be, or whether it’ll be brushed or brushless, but I think I know my color scheme and wheels. I am going to run with the Sport body.

I could be wrong but I thought I seen a post somewhere that the Blazer will come with the S1 compound, my Bronco tires work fantastic so I'm betting the S1 tires will be even better.

Maybe not the bronco, but the rtr sport says it has S1 compound tires. On Traxxas website.

Oh the RTR Sport! My Bronco has the regular compound so the S1 should be a nice improvement.

I also read that about the Blazer.

I’m trying to plan out what electronics I’m going to drop in the kit. I have a hobbywing 1060 esc laying around and 27t, 35t, 55t, and a 21t Titan motors laying around. The Titan motor should be the same as stock trx4. Does anyone know if I would be better off using one if the higher turn 540s? I’ll probably run hillclimbs and natural rock faces more that any other terrain.

The exploded views for all the models list the tires as part # 8270 which are the S1 compound Canyon Trails. I'm pretty sure that is the only compound they use.

Interesting...

The listing for the S1 tires shows them as being replacement parts for all of the TRX-4 models except for the Bronco. They are listed as an accessory for the Bronco.

Zee plot thickens...

Ah I posted in the other thread about this but forgot to move it here.

Pretty sure they’re the same. Bronco rtr features sheet on the traxxas site lists them as “trail tuned s1 compound” or something like that

Wheels and Tires
Replica chrome wheels with hub inserts
Pre-mounted 1.9” Canyon Trail tires with trail-tuned foam inserts
Trail tuned S1 rubber compound
12mm steel hex

Yup, me too. "thumbsup"

Not sure what I'm going to do with 3 TRX-4's, but it'll be fun one way or another. Never thought I'd be building a Traxxas kit. Times are a changing!

Join the club. I am almost done with mine. Now I need to decide what color to paint the body.

Interesting. I'll be bummed if the Sport kit doesn't include better tires than the RTR, but oh well. They're still one of the best RTR tires I've used and they're getting replaced with Prolines regardless.

Man, you get to it fast. All I did was open the box and check it out so far.

I think you ordered yours after me and I still haven't gotten mine! RPP shipped it on the FedEx slow boat.

I had it since last Friday. I thought I was going slow. Besides missing couple of screws, I had a hard time with the battery box. It did not want to seat correctly.

I ordered 3/3 from Amain.

You should have ordered from RC Mart and I should have ordered from RPP - they're at opposite ends of the country.
They confirmed mine will arrive Monday. 8)

Oh wow! Did you pre-order? I ordered on 3/7 at RPP the minute I got the stock notification email.

Yeah, I ordered as soon as they listed for pre-order and noticed it without the coupon restriction disclaimer.

Corrected if I remember correctly where you ordered from.

Hah. RCSuperstore has the price on their remaining sport kits listed at $320 on eBay. That is exactly 15% markup. Looks like the coupon saw some use yesterday.
