UGLY's Bully 2

Re: New Bully 2

Just finished up the build, waiting for the lipo to show up tomorrow. I have some nanotech 3s 1300s that I use in my oxy 3 helicopter but they are way to big. I will get a couple pics up later of the bully.

Re: New Bully 2 w/Pics

Looking good ! The drag link angle will be an issue. I fought with mine forever and when I added my big knuckles up front I had to fix it. See how mine is parallel and even with the tie rod ? I ended up getting a 1.5" Futaba servo arm.

Re: New Bully 2

Clock your knuckles back, put tie rod on top of the knuckles and drag link on top of that and add a 3mm spacer to your drag link. That will fix your crazy angle on that drag link.

Edit: also add longer rod ends to your rear links to clock your rear axle up.

What benefit would I get from clocking the knuckles and fixing the drag link angle?

By clocking you lift the motor up, that's clearance Clarence .
As for the drag link when it's straight it will be smoother, and that's always better.
I went to a longer arm and the servo works less and steers better.

Any change you make on your rig will make it better or worse. Take your time and fiddle until you are happy, or see something else !

Dual ESC

I was going to go the rocker dig route but decided to double up the esc's. Went with 2 hobbywing wp1080's. Both esc power switches were deleted and hardwired (soldered) to save space and weight. The bottom esc fit perfectly between the bottom skid mounts but the corners hit the link rod ends so I had to take off about 3/16 off of each corner of the esc with a bench grinder.

As for tx, im running the hacked Gt3c with the dig function's and proportional drive.

Re: New Bully 2

I made a servo skid plate out of a pencil tin can (not a soda can) and got my rear motor raised by installing the rpm longer rod ends.

Re: New Bully 2

I wanted an upgrade so I went with the rpm's because I have used their plastic on past models and it always met my expectation. Paired them with some samix stainless steel pivot balls.

And here it is, wieght is 2011g/4.43lb "thumbsup"

Re: New Bully 2

6mm.

You need seven 40mm, one 58mm and one 65mm. I didn't do the 8 or 12mm ones. It made a big difference in chassis. The suspension does all the work without chassis flex.

Do you have a link to the tubing? What inside diameter?
