I know it has to do allot with personal opinions. But I want to know whats the best. I have a SCX10 with 2.2 Aluminum Wheels and RC4WD XL Mudslingers on them. Price isnt a big concern I want a very quite powerful servo. I have a BEC so power is not a problem as well. I am running a Hitec 5646wp right now and I love the servo but its just not powerful enough to turn those big wheels.

For the most power, smoothness and grunt, the ProTek 170t is my choice for rigs that demand all the steering power I need. Ie, my 13lbs TTC truck. For lighter trucks, My other suggestions are the Holmes BLS or the HiTec 7950, since the 7980 is larger but it depends on your use. It won't fit the wraith Dinky mounts without modifications.

There is a reason they are sold out. They will have some in stock in the next few weeks.

Outspecs a 7980 but is still in the standard sized case, unlike the 7980 that is 10% bigger.

Protec 350T - yea they don't make them anymore but it is so much quieter than my Hitec. Don't want to even start on how loud my Savox is. I will be probably picking up two of the 150T as these are basically what has replaced the 350T.

I think this is the second time I've seen someone's name on a servo. Possibly both from Protek. Tells me something.

Things got a little off track but I think I will go with the HS-7950TH. I see that one allot around here and I like hitec so I think that's the winner. Thanks and any other input or recommendation would still help

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I —
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. Frost

Interesting, but with electronics or more precisely servos, irrelevant.

I'm glad edward78 was able to make a choice, however I have a few questions.

Wil the HP 7950 work with a NiMH battery with no BEC? I am trying to decide where to spend the money and get the bang for the buck. New to the RC world and need to do the up grades gradually. The peace of crap servo I have now I need to be moving in order to turn.

- Will I need to do programming to it out of the box, or is it ready to go?
- Will it be ok with the crappy stock Wrait transmitters?

Would you recommend getting a servo first or up grade upgrade the batteries to Lipo first? Here is my delema, if I upgrade the batteries I still have shitty searing until I can get a new servo. If I get the servo I can still use the rig until I get new batteries.

I like to take the road less travled in life but when it comes to somethings the well traveled road gets you there faster with less expense.
The servo will run on lower volts but you will not get the full power out of it.

It will be hard on your internal bec to run the servo as well. But to answer your question you dont need lipo to run that servo.

You need a BEC. It is a crawler.
