Whats wrong with the Canadians?

It's all good! "thumbsup" When the headline popped up in front of me I immediately thought of this thread and had to post. :ror:

Shame people taking crap like that so seriously. I know ya'll love your hockey up there but damn......

I thought the same thing. Damn Canadians. Just keep the rioting up there, we don't want it. :ror:

I just wish I could figure out why they have to drive like assholes when they come down to the states.
That is my only complaint. I live about 75 miles from a border crossing and we get tons of people from Alberta and British Columbia in our area. They come down here and spend a lot of money which is great because it supports our community and strengthens our economy.

I just don't understand the way they drive....it's like speed limits are just a suggestion. I mean most everybody I know will fudge the speed limit by 5 or 10 miles an hour but the people from up north seem think they should drive 100mph everywhere they go.

Narrow twisty two lane mountain roads and some jerk feels the need to pass in no passing zones and around blind corners, tailgate, pull out in front of you, cut you off in traffic.....8 out of 10 times it's somebody with an Alberta plate.

I have nothing against them personally, I've talked with many people from up north at various sporting events and in the local stores and they have all been nice people. It just seems like as soon as they get behind the wheel they have be the biggest dick on the roads.
Is it because you're in the U.S. and don't care if you get tickets?? Or does everybody up there just drive like jackasses? I don't know because I've never gone north of the border.

Honest question here I'm not trying to be a butthole. I really don't get it...I mean if everybody up there drove like they do when they come down here you'd all be wiped out in traffic accidents by the end of the year.

Probably used to doing the run to Fort Mac every week.

Hey, I live in Alberta. I keep it within 10 over the speed limit. I'll be the slow driver you see in Kalispell this summer ;-) Maybe these are Albertans who don't realize speed limits in the US are in mph, not kph  Honestly though, there's definitely a lot of dickhead drivers around locally, but that's the case anywhere. When we were in San Diego last year, the local drivers on the freeway up to LA scared the shit out of me :ror:

As for the whole US vs. Canada thing. Yep, we have our differences, we have our similarities. In the end though, I feel blessed to have a "foreign country" that's so easy to visit, relatively safe, and has a lot of folks I consider to be good people and good friends living there "thumbsup" To me, life's too short to argue about politics, war, religion, etc. I'd rather just sit down over a beer and BS about other things, and enjoy the freedoms we have to do so.

How true it is. I was born in and have lived in Edmonton my whole life. Even with the downturn I never had issues keeping my job or even finding a better one. I make a very good wage for my age and have no major concerns or complaints. The healthcare is great as my other hobbies tend to brake body parts.

The US is a good neighbour but sometimes I feel that we let our resources and resource ownership go a little to easily.

Wether you yanks like it or not, you need us and we need you. Especially with the shit show going on overseas right now.

Wow, you must be an extra cranky Canadan to dig up a 6 month old thread that everyone had forgotten about just to put your .02 in. :ror:

There's a few cm's on the ground now, mostly ice though. We're supposed to get 15-20cm's tomorrow however last time we were told that we ended up with almost 50 lol. It's currently -11c here with a windchill of -18 which is nothing as yesterday in Alberta is was -30 I think and the windchill was around -50...

Yeah, it's warmed up from yesterday to about -36 with the wind. Yesterday was sitting about -45. We looked like a community of electric cars with everyone's block heaters plugged in (half the people reading this are probably wondering what a block heater is ).

Supposed to warm up to the freezing mark by weekend. Only in Alberta.

i have been driving my baja the last three days on the lake! it has been awesome even though i can only start it once because after that everything gets frozen in place.
