WTF Tony Stewart

I've watched this video so many times I should be embarrassed.

I say Stewart didn't touch his car. Nothing of Stewart's car's behavior shows he did. Same with the other car, he was washing out and lost it. I bet there might even be a foot between the two. I also say, Stewart didn't blip the gas til after the fact. That took me a while to see or hear, but I think it's correct. Stewart even stopped immediately. Tire width might come into play, but the kid walked into traffic, and you can't deny that. He was obviously livid about something. Sucks all around.
I have watched several times also. Kid crossed the berm with the right rear under throttle. Ass end went up the hill and caught the wall and turn the front up to the wall. I see no contact from Tony either. Maybe the roughness of the berm made the guy think some of it was getting hit.
As far as Stewarts throttle blip (assuming) there is very little to no peripheral vision in a sprint car. I am thinking Stewart thought he was out of reach.

Another thing I've been around racing a while and seen drivers use engine noise as a voice. The kid was gesturing at Stewart and the blip of the throttle was a vocal fuk you too. It just ended up way wrong. Sprints are direct drive pretty much. Just a hydraulic coupler which is kinda hard to put into neutral and back in drive just to rev a motor at someone in that time frame.

What will become of it. As said a legal litigation, money moved around. A promise for new rules about how to handle on track anger( which will never work because anger blinds) on local tracks. I saw where a few people claim to start boycotting and Pickett sponsors, most likely they won't follow through with because they can't get that far from the keyboard. Something big will happen on the news in the next little while and most of the world will move on to that and forget this thing.

Yup, Dad (who's had a variety of racing experiences, including rural dirt ovals) and myself (not so much) watched that video when the local NBC affiliate played it tonight. It looked as though the car went around on it's own and Stewart had the misfortune to be next to it when that happened. It also looked like the kid just walked in front of Stewart after narrowly being missed by the blue and white car. Kinda reminds me of some of those videos of people walking or driving infront of oncoming trains (Dad, being a retired railroader has been there too) or a deer running infront of an oncoming vehicle (now that, I have experience with!)

I agree with you again. The only winners in this situation will be the lawyers.

Sadly for all parties involved, this.

Had it been the blue white car that hit the kid, we'd never know of any of this.

I can clearly see the blue white car driver react and swerve.

Kid walked into traffic about three times until Stewart clipped him.

True this. I have seen two on track deaths. Once in Columbus Ms and one in Arkadelphia Al in 04. Either barely made local news. The one in Arkadelphia was hella more gruesome than Stewarts deal.

Actually, we may have heard at least a little about it since Stewart was racing at that track, especially if it had happened infront of him. Maybe even moreso since some people think he turned the kid around, starting this mess.

Pirate never disappoints. :lmao:

I only saw a one crappy video, but I thought Tonys car made the jerk to the right because of his back tire hitting the young driver.

Either way, the situations sucks for everyone involved.

RIP Kevin Ward JR.

You get tangled up in a race, other guy wipes out, you come back around to buzz the car and either flip him off or give him the piece sign and the guys standing in the track around a corner. Not Guilty, if I'm on the jury.
Condolences to the family.

1 thing's for sure - after the last 2 years, Tony Stewart needs to get the fawk out of sprint car racing. Time to find a new hobby.

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here...

Probe: No sign of criminal intent in Stewart crash ...but what about satanic influence?

Just look at him on last Friday August the 8th 2014, one day before the accident. The look on his face is very determined. This is the look a mass murderer wears before they commit their heinous act.

The crash site is the same track where Stewart was involved in a July 2013 accident that seriously injured a 19-year-old driver. He later took responsibility for his car making contact with another and triggering the 15-car accident that left Alysha Ruggles with a compression fracture in her back.

Now look at the same image of Stewart one more time on Friday August the 8th 2014 before the accident...

I'll let you be the judge.

i cant convince myself that tony isnt responsible or shouldnt be held accountable… he intentionally tried to roost the kid and got too close. might not be murder, but manslaughter for sure.

i know the kid was being a full on retard for walking out onto the track, but...

Until we get more/better video of the incident, we don't know that for sure.

im not at all trying to flame this thread, but jesus… what better video do you need?

you can plain as day see that driver sucked up into the rear tire and spat out. the kid wasnt just ran over by a coasting racecar, that car was under power at the time. tony got on the throttle, for no reason other than bark at the other driver.

not saying the kid wasnt also at fault and being a total moron, but cmon… you clearly see tony make no effort at all to be safe, you see him get as close as he can and then cranks the throttle. that to me is 100% wreckless and should be considered manslaughter.

if i was in the jury on this, you wouldnt convince me otherwise unless another piece of evidence was supplied that clearly disproves what i see.

One that is closer and at least shows where TS was mid-corner before he hit Ward. All we see is the split second before he hits him and it is not enough to determine what exactly TS was trying to do.

Man there just isn't enough video for me to come to that conclusion

Being on a Jury with you would be fun.

We'd take forever, both milking the Gov and the room service at the hotel :ror:
