I’ve been asked several times lately for a list of required and recommended parts for the XR10 modification to the AX10 axles so I decided to write up a list. This thread will include part numbers and some RCC vendors who carry them. It will also have my recommendations on what to use. These recommendations are purely my opinion and can be replaced with your favorite brand of hop-up parts.

RCC Vendors That Carry Some or All of These Parts
Vanquish Products
Crawler Innovations
TCS
RCP Crawlers
RPP Hobby

Required XR10 Parts
1. XR10 Universals – AXI30563
2. XR10 Straight Axles – AXI30758 (You will need two of the 110mm shafts so either order two of this part or cut and grind the longer 117mm shaft.)
3. XR10 Knuckles – AXI80061 ( I prefer Vanquish Incision Knuckles)
4. XR10 C-Hubs – AXI80062 (I prefer Vanquish Incision C-Hubs)
5. XR10 Lockouts – AXI80064 (I prefer Vanquish Incision Lockouts)

Beef Tube Options
1. Biggin69 (Longer Beef Tubes)
2. Chris_The_Battery_Man (Wide Splined – Front)(Wide Un-Splined – Rear)

Hardware Needed (Note: Your hop-up parts may include hardware.)
1. M3x6mm Button Head x 24 (Beef Tube and C-Hub Installation)
2. M3x8mm Button Head x 8 (Knuckle and Lockout Installation)

Other Recommended Parts
1. Your favorite brand of locker/spool.
2. Under Drive Rear Gear Set (43/13) – AXI30402
3. Over Drive Front Gear Set (36/14) – AXI30401

I hope this helps someone. If there is any interest I can also post a list of parts needed for building axles and a transmission from scratch. If you have any questions shoot me a PM "thumbsup"

Right on! This will be great to have for my new build I am putting together. Thanks!

Never mind, I was wrong. I did use XR's and 2 short sides. Lol. My bad

Also on Knuckle, the VP one is Zero ankerman but not Axial one. I think well worth the extra money. For C-hub, I uses TopCAD one, mate up with Vp knuckle no problem and only 1/3 the price.

i did this mod WITHOUT the beef tubes. very easy to do. i used strc c-hubs with vp knuckles. the vp knuckles are a little different and allow more steering angle. i did not swap the rear axle shafts since i don't see the point in that. mine was done cheaply with cut down xr universals, c-hubs, knuckles. that was it.

I did mine with chris the batterymans short splined tubes with vanquish chubs an stock xr knuckles with cut down xr universals an overdrive gears, I wanted to be just a 1/2 wider than the stock width, this was the ticket! awsome write up on the info"thumbsup"

I did mine the same way, but this is a fantastic post! With the popularity of this mod, this should be stickied.

Thanks guys!

It was my goal when I posted this to get as much info on this mod in one place as possible.

Once I start my build thread I will post a link to it in the original post.
